finally got the Wideband O2 sensor in today! when i installed, the little LED light went exactly like the directions said, and i double checked EVERYTHING and its installed 100% correectly. but....... I'm kind of confused tho - - in the VE table shouldn't i see actual Air-fuel ratio numbers (i.e. 14.7 or similar) rather than the current "55, 60, 62, 65, 71..." ?

No, VE table is different than A/F table

sorry I was on my i-phone watching a movie with family so my reply was short.

The VE table numbers are part of the math used to fire the injectors. raising the numbers increases fuel flow, lowering them decreases flow. Your A/F table looks similar except you will see "target" A/F numbers. The default A/F table in Tunerstudio is pretty good although a little lean in the light throttle cruise section for my taste. But it's a great start and will let VE Analyze do it's thing.

here is a pic of one I used. I have since leaned out the cruise to 14.7 up from 14.2 - It's a slightly modified table from the default

ahhh i see. any thoughts on how to get to that table through Megatune? I played around w/ megatune (unconnected) and couldn't find ANYTHING that looked like an actual AFR table... or should i just download tunerstudio?

Tunerstudio is superior to megatune but you need to have an established project open to access the tables. Here I have opened the drop down menu under fuel settings and selected AFR table 1:

You can export and import all of the tables as you like. It is not a bad idea to save the old tables as export files, then you can modify them any way you like and always re-import the original (you can also backup the entire project at anytime which includes all tables and settings).

Tony`s kit does not support AFR table. Then you have to upgrade to MS extra

tony's kit is so outdated Im surprised that anyone would even buy it. It doesnt come with the most expensive bits like Fuel injectors, pressure regulator anyway and doesnt use TPS which is a major drawback. the ECU is about 4.5 versions and many major upgrades behind.... the sad thing is that the MS3 ecu is only about $200 more than his outdated version. A MS 2, V3.57 is only $150 more... Seems to me he would charge alittle more and get out of 2007. Not knocking his kit, it works well for many users, but 95% of the difficulty is the tuning maps not the hardware, so as long as you have his maps, Id pass on his kit until he upgrades it with at least a MS2 V 3.57 ECU. There were MAJOR updgrades in V 3.57 and even more upgrades in MS 3.. Back in 2008 it was great. But that was then and this is now... To each his own...

took it up to omaha and met the guy who was gonna tune it - did a lot of WOT tuning - got everything running much more smoothly. no hesitation when i slam the pedal thru the floor, runs much smoother than before! going back to western, NE again in about a week ; will test gas mileage again there and back (uphill vs downhill(3k feet elev. difference), head wind vs tail wind).

idle still barely surges - we tried to lean out the mixture at idle, but the car started to miss and pop so he had to richen it back up. i feel the idle afr (~12.9) is too rich! but leaning it out makes it worse. perhaps the slight idle surge is another problem?

warm up config is next; but he looked at it and said it probably doesn't need much work, since it seems to warm up fairly normally. dyno runs probably going to happen in january

also - just got baffles(from ben) for Ben's GT3 style muffler - since it was droning pretty bad. my only question is how far in do i put them and which end goes in first? should the pointed center be facing out the exhaust (top) or into the ehaust (bottom)?

I've been looking into the bitz and other set ups and read you entire thread and other posts you've made.
Did you ever plug the old fuel line fitting hole you have circled in red? That may be you ongoing vacuum leak that doesn't let you lean out you settings. Could be opening slightly even disconnected.

edit: checked for vac. leaks thoroughly - carb cleaner on ANYTHING that has to do wit ha vacuum. all vac lines, all intake runners (tops and bottoms) all check out - absolutely zero fluctuation with the idle.

do i have my dedicated vacuum hose hooked to the right spot?

Yellow circle = vacuum line coming off left side of distributor(as if facing the rear of car)
blue circle - where i have my dedicated line to the Fuel Pressure Regulator
red circle - random hole in cold start valve - do i need to plug?
