What do you think? I'm not overly impressed based on the price point.

It is very expensive and I was going to have my local Porsche dealer install it until they gave me an even more ridiculous price for installation. So yesterday, after many months of it sitting on a shelf in my house, I decided to install it myself.

With no car audio experience and only this forum and some other youtube videos to guide me, I had it completely installed in just over 1 hour without a single issue.

I originally purchased it more for the form than the function and I am extremely happy with that aspect of it, however after a test drive, I'm also very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the iphone phone/music interface and how clear the blue tooth hands free is in my extremely loud, zork tubed, fire shooting, turbo cab.

I still can't believe that I made a hands free call from my car and the wife said it was as clear as any other "car call" she's taken. I put the mircrophone on the sunvisor.

Even the Nav is more useable than I thought it would be on such a small screen.

I know there are some things it can't do, but I am a simple man and overall, I'm pretty pleased with it.

Rear brakes and wheel spacers

It was time to replace the rear brake pads. The job was the easiest I've had on my SC! Took less than 15 minutes per side including jacking up the car. "While I was in there" I cleaned my Fuchs, polished them by hand and treated the black with Vaseline. They came out looking quite nice so now I have to do the fronts! I also had some 28mm spacers I wanted to install to fill out the rear wells a bit. They are H&R part #5695716. Here's the after shot:

28mm is just about perfect for an 83 Cabriolet.

Drove the car to work..... couldn't resist the photo op, something just looked right about it. Maybe the lighting, maybe just the subject.

Couldn't help myself..... had to create this:

The assembly continues. Installed a new Prototipo and Spokes LED's all around with the white driving light option. The lights look awesome! I had some typical 911 wiring problems with ghosting but Spoke was very quick and dead on with the steps to fix it up. Now if I can just figure out how to do the fuel door release with the fender on the car... Anyone pull this off? I've read some threads but I guess I'm just not getting it.

Do you have a link to the front LEDs? Thanks.

I walked out to it, got in and went to CVS and thought "Wow, that Kia Seoul is huge."

Great! Thanks. On the front turn signals/running lights, is there a way to wire the white section so it's on with the ignition?

Hit a 100,000 miles on my `87 Carrera

Today my car turned over 100,000 miles on the odometer. And nothing bad happened I didn't even notice until I got to work. I knew it was getting close. Other than using a little oil it's as good as it was when I bought it ~20 years ago. In some ways better.

Gotcha beat. My 72 911 just went over 237,000 couple weeks ago. Third engine, 2.4 to 2.7 to 3.0 twin plug. But those where because I wanted more than the original "T" engine. I've rebulit everything and enjoyed working on her and driving the s**t out of her for near 20 years. Now there's just nothing left to do but drive her. Taking her out tonight for the "Driving the Gut" in McMinnville Or.

My new toy is this Classic Mini. More fun to tinker with and she gets to "Drive the Gut" also and the car show tomorrow.
