Well, it's kind of like beating on the 911. You want to, but you're wallet keeps you from it.

I bet that 1380 is fun though. The torque with the supercharger is quite fun however. Especially on cooler mornings. You can really tell the difference with air temp changes.

Installed my Car Bone air freshener today. Straight from Poland.

Just kidding, that was some swag that came with the ignition switch procedure decal i ordered from them. Always hated how plain that ring looked.

Completed my rear pop-out rear window backdate install in my stripped AC car by stripping and painting the windows and trim pieces and putting all into place.

The increased air flow even at 90* ambient makes the car tolerable.

This...

I feel like the 'pop out' rear window is one of those lost treasures of days gone by...

I removed my oil tank level sender to resolve the dreaded needle flicker issue.

I:
jacked up the car on the oil tank side to enable access and ensure the tank doesn't leak when the sender is removed
disconnected the wires and labelled them
undid the 5 cap-head-bolts
eased the sender out and twisted it round to free it from the aperture
transferred the sender to my bench and went through the process of cleaning and assessing the unit
deconstructed the unit by bending back the 4 tabs to take the float and arm out so I could get to the parts needing attention

It turned out that the unit seemed to be in good condition and merely needed cleaning of the resistor wire and the contacts

I:
increased the tension of the wiper onto the resistor wire
re-assembled the unit
tested the unit on the bench to ensure that the resistance changed through the range of the movement of the float
re-installed the sender

I then went for a test drive and noted that, once the oil was up to temperature and the level was registering there was no more flickering of the gauge - movement up and down is steady

I am well chuffed

Cheers, Neil

Thanks for the reminder..... I've been putting off doing mine (waiting for oil level to lower) - that's my excuse anyway....

Cheers !

Got the Targa back, with it's freshly rebuilt engine and 915 box. Top end was done 6000 miles ago, this time was case spilt, new main and intermediate shaft bearings, all new timing gears and chains, case line honed, and totally resealed. Put about 150 miles on it, enjoyed shifting gears for a change, and changed out the front brake pads. Just got in from the garage, and there's nary an oil drip to be seen. I'm a happy guy today.

Clutch adjustment. I put a new clutch cable in and did a pedal cluster rebuild with new clutch pedal spring a few months ago. I've been working on the assembly after paint an a couple days ago I finally had enough assembled to go on a drive. The clutch was a bit off. Even after following the Bently and Wayne's book it still wasn't right. After some research we determined the new cable was too long and had to do additional take up at the clevis at the pedal cluster. Once that was done it all fell into place. Went for a great drive after that. Thanks to all the Pelican's who contribute!

Yesterday...washed it. Drove her around for fun cruise and filled up the tank only to find gas rushing out. Apparently i am missing the fuel recovery tank. First time that has happened
