Installed a home made fin radiator cooling device

It is all explained in this thread;

Anyone ever make their own finned oil lines for additional cooling?

Or if you want the Cliff's Notes version, see photo below

Went through a bad case of Porsche withdrawal today. I found myself standing in the garage, just staring at the 911.

Rear is up in the air on jack stands, engine is on the ground, transmission in a crate on its way back from repair. A fine layer of dust has settled on the car. Clutter has grown around the wheels with the other projects I have going around the house.

I haven't driven this thing since early June. The transmission started making speed-dependent growling noises. Turns out the bearing near the pinion head split its inner race.

That crate arrives Tuesday.

Soon...

Made a footrest for my wife since she had trouble reaching the floor at the bulkhead. Also added an opening for the AC passenger intake allowing additional air flow.

Front

Back

Installed

Covered with carpet and mat

The factory floorboard was used as the template for the front and back sides.

For the front, I needed to remove the left side extension to clear the center console. It also does not go all the way to the floor so that I can reach the bottom fastener and install it's nut.

On the back I left the small (about 1" square) support off but the unit is stable.

3.2 Carrera gauge p0rn. Now w/ voltmeter!

Fun with gauges!

Ditched the asinine CASIS light in favor of an integrated volt meter and cleaned up the gauge faces with a number of deletions. Can you spot the changes?

Unfortunately, they are tricky to photograph. Hence the reflections off of the CLEAR glass. The pointers are all matching flawless fluorescent orange.

Post install, went for a LOVELY drive through Rancho Santa Fe, Solana Beach & Encinitas. Pretty solid day.

Actually was not my 911, but I'm in charge of it. Got a call to use it as a prop in a swimsuit shoot.

Who am I to say no?

Removed steering wheel (frickin' horn!), rotated by one spline, and put it back on.

I screwed up when replacing the horn contact and fixing the turn signal last weekend, and the slightly rotated steering wheel was driving me crazy.

Replaced the cylinder head temperature sensor over the weekend. It would run for five minutes and flood/stall out. Thanks to the Board it was a $125, including shipping and tax fix. If not for the Board, I'm sure I'd have had it towed somewhere and paid $750.

Techweenie, the best you could come up with was a poor quality cell phone pic?

Made by "Classic Retrofit"....... purchased from our host in the "upgrades" department. ;-)

Steve, best way is to follow their easy step by step instructions. Take LOTS of pre-swap pictures!!!

I went a step further to refinish the bracket and fix a few PO issues. Easy task if you are prepared and patient.

Did I mention PICTURES!!!

Spent a nice evening with other Porsche folk last night, but I parked under a tree that sapped all over the Red Baroness. So today, I gave her a bath...

But when I did, this happened...

I also found a handful of new oil spots on the garage floor. So today's not my favorite day...
