YES! Subscribed as well... All these builds are making me think that my stock SC needs a major facelift. Happy New Year

Very cool and I am just up the road in Charlotte. I get through Greenville quite a bit. Would LOVE to stop in and check out the build.

Great progress. This was a project that I didn't think would see this level of progress.

That roll bar top bar looks too low. Depending on your (lowered) seat height and your body shape, you may have a tough time getting it above your head with a helmet on of you plan to do any racing. I've been there.

Otherwise looks great.

Thanks for the nice replies everyone. Seeing progress at the paint shop does wonders for your motivation.

TDW - would love to show you around my garage. Likely a few weeks before I'll have this car back.
Freytag - It's a DirectLift. Extremely happy with it. The optional sliding hydraulic jack lift makes it capable of anything, and very safe.
UncleBilly - that pic is really deceiving now that I look at it again. The test fit seemed like it would be fine and that was with stock seats. The new seats will sit lower, so I think I'm good.

It's amazing what paint can do. Everything is looking great so far.

While there are no rules, what are the goals? Daily driver? Fair weather canyon carver? Track monster?

Goals are:

1- canyon carver as there are lots of great winding mountain roads in the Greenville and Western NC area.
2- certainly a little autox
3- maybe a DE or two to open it up, but I have a 356 racer and a Triumph racer (under development) for the more serious race prep

But honestly, the main goal is to have fun during the project mode which will consume many more hours of working, dreaming and researching than I'll ever be able to spend behind the wheel. And of course, something for my boys to think "is awesome" when they get a little older

Since you have the interior pretty much gutted, it might be a good time to think about sound deadening:

Interior sound deadening, noise reduction, and thermal insulation

I'm about to tackle this in my car...once I get the glue up...

Mostly I have been (sporadically) working on the engine rebuild. I had been taking my time since the body work was progressing so slowly. But now that they are about complete it's time to move it to the front burner. Aside from this project, I've been getting my 356 racer ready, I started an MGA hot rod project, bought a one-off sports racer that's in parts, etc. You know.....distractions.

Back from the paint shop!

After 15 months, I have her back from the paint shop! An exciting day. And yes, by the way, I did manage to gouge the rear bumper putting her on the trailer. But that's ok. Here are a few pics:

Now the fun really begins!

Great colors! And those stripes, it's amazing how much of a difference that small pinstripe makes. Chapeau!

Chuck,

Can you show us a picture of what is underneath the two hood latches? I'll like to do something similar on my project and was curious how you attached things to the body.
