Most people that I think fall into option 3 seem to be panning Reid's idea. Why do you suppose that is? Most people do a risk/benefit analysis when making a decision. It seems the jury is saying they fail to see a SUPERIOR benefit as Reid claims. What people seem to believe is that it is a push. The burden of proof is on Reid because it's his claim. If he was a bit more humble I don't think he would get the pushback he gets, but that is a different discussion. . . .

Excellent post, Tim (all of if, not just the snippet I quoted here), that nicely explains why Reid gets "dogged" (as he calls it) so much in these threads - really enjoyed reading it.

As I've said many times previously (speaking of "many times", notice how Reid is again "open looping" his previous posts *Bob's outstanding description of Reid's practice* - too funny, in a "point-n-laugh" sort of way), Reid has yet to demonstrate a/c performance that is superior to what is obtainable with "obsolete" technology, so all of his much repeated, "FULL CAPS" chest beating is nothing more than self-parody at this point.

So far his ideas include: Parallel flow condensers, improved airflow to front and rear condensers, reversed condenser order, orifice tube evaporator system, improved evaporator and blower, electronic a/c control. These are all at least interesting ideas, and some are well accepted by most a/c guys.
He is obviously proud of his results, and wants to share, but also some credit for his efforts.
I don't really pay much attention to the BS, so without that, this is a two page thread with some decent info.
Thanks,
Dave
Fair enough. For me the bull***** to value ratio is too out of whack to pay him any more attention though. Carry on...

Exactly!

And here is a good representation of Reid's bs-v-value ratio (the toilet representing "value" buttofcourse) -

Reid--how can you call Ronnie's temp BS? It's right there on the meter.

BTW-thank you for responding to my earlier question. I can appreciate the effort you have put forth in this.

He has nothing to prove. He can laugh at himself freely. He is down to earth and does not compare himself to world class game changers.

This is the antithesis of you. Better look that one up, spell king.

You never went to a real school, did you?

Deal with it. You have big big little man issues.

One thing I want to mention about the various vent temp pictures I've posted (which Bob is already aware of); those were originally not taken to post in a Pelican thread, but were taken to send to Bob and Eric early-ish last summer when I had completed some major, custom changes to my a/c system, was really happy with the results and wanted to share it with them (with my usual "getcha suuummm" commentary, of course). In fact, I sent them details and pictures of the work for about a month as it was taking place - including my several eff ups along the way. In other words, and as Bob mentioned, the pictures are not staged and I have no reason to lie about anything here.

Right, I want very cold a/c, am unable to achieve it, and/or only at the expense of evaporator freezing problems which I decide I have to be satisfied with (since that works so well to keep the car interior frosty in the Texas climate), so I take pictures of the temp gun immediately following aiming it in my home freezer in order to feel special.

Here's some more of my BS -

A spacer/adapter I made in order to fit the 1987-style hamster wheel to the GM blower motor (took several failed ideas to get it right). The original fan works much better in the 1987 evap box top than the fan that comes with the GM motor, so well worth the effort . . .

Will (wwest) already explained how this is possible (he's been very curious about this detail, too, but hasn't actually called me a liar, however) earlier on in this thread - like you are fond of saying "figure it out"!
