PEOPLE WHO POST IR GUN PICTURES AIMED INTO AN AIR VENT SHOWING LOW TEMPERATURES BELOW 32 DEGREES AND SAY THEIR EVAPORATOR DOES NOT FREEZE UP DURING EXTENDED DRIVING ARE BS!!!
I had no idea you had such a great problem understanding the written word.

George was suggesting using an IR thermometer to read the temperature of pipe joints, METAL pipe joints. Inlet and outlet joints for both the rear lid condenser and the front lip condenser.

Something that lends toward a more complete understanding of our systems.

Knowing the rear lid condenser inlet temperature of a system under a high heat load would be an aid in determining which thermostatic switch temperature rating should be used instead of the 3rd element of a trinary pressure switch.

Taping & insulating a second switch to the front lip condenser inlet to control the front blower is not an altogether outlandish idea either.

I have proven it to myself repeatedly, and anyone who's opinions matter to me does not think I am lying for sport.

Will (wwest) has attempted to explain to you why it's possible (granted, he was/is skeptical).

Eric (silber) has attempted to explain to you why it's possible.

You do not comprehend the "whys" and are unwilling to learn since the subject knocks big holes in your silly, "I rule the a/c world" mentality.

You know, I just came to the realization that I can more readily believe Ronnie's "no-freeze" claim than your "reverse the gasses" claim by a country mile.

Apparently you have never encountered a Porsche 944 or 928 that uses a thermostatic switch stud mounted to the top of the R/D...

Well, you were correct before. You can't fix stupid. Hey, you can't measure air temps with an IR gun? OK. You use a temperature probe. Excellent work!

Oh, wait.

How does that temp probe work, again? Oh, yeah. The cold air from the AC cools down the metal of the probe. The probe is not measuring directly the air temp, but the temp of the probe surface. Holy crap, folks! Guess what the IR gun is measuring? That's right, the interior SURFACES of the AC ductwork. The very same principle as how a temp probe or thermometer might work. None of these instruments is directly measuring the air temp.

Reid, do you realize that I have provided more technical information in two posts about the boiling point of R123a and the mode of operation of temperature measuring devices than you have provided in the whole rest of the thread? This is a 911 tech forum, not a lying about the products I'm trying to trick 911 owners into buying forum.

Time for a Pieholio post with a picture of a friendly critter. And a Ronnie post about optical magnifying devices.

Porsche Crest A/C Reverse The Gases in Early Model 911's WORKS GREAT PROVE ME WRONG

Clockmaker John Harrison vindicated 250 years after ‘absurd’ claims
The pendulum clock of Longitude hero John Harrison is tested and declared a masterpiece

ITS GOING TO BE FUN TO PROVE NAY SAYERS WRONG!
BUT ITS NOT GOING TO TAKE 250 YEARS like it did John Harrison
TO PROVE I DON'T BS HERE ABOUT ANYTHING I HAVE CLAIMED RELATED TO MY INVENTIONS!

Porsche Crest 5 LBS 5 OZ's Total Weight of my new version of BOTH FRONT & REAR PFC/s

5 LBS 5 OZ's Total Weight of my new version of BOTH FRONT & REAR PFC/s

Front PFC ONE pound .95 ounces

Rear PFC THREE pounds .56 ounces

Weights Taken and GIVEN from UPS Store

My State of the Art PFC's have proven repeatedly to enable early model 911's A/C systems properly prepared to get vent temps in the 30s @ 92-95 degrees ambient professionally installed reversing the gases

Lets see what a west coast DIY 1986 Carrera Cabriolet owner can do with them using my invention reversing the gases.

(this is one of my pfc extended driving & testing @ 95 degrees ambient reversing the gases pictures NOT THE DIY's)

You are not lying. However, 29F at the vents should not be sustainable.

Why don't you just park it in the sun. Let it get pretty toasty and shoot the thermo at the vent after five, ten, 15 minutes of driving.

I will be glad to do that, plus any other reasonable combination of temp measurements & tests, in the coming months as things heat up in earnest here in TexAss.

BUTT, you might recall that last summer, I did something close to what you describe above on a mere 86 degree, sunny day in September, and the vent temp was 26 degrees.

With that said, the best method of proof for me is that regardless of my obsolete components, my car is a meatlocker inside, even in upper 90s temps.

Maybe that temp is sustainable, without evaporator freezing, because my car's a/c system is constantly attempting to counter the blast-furnace of masculinity that I challenge it with whenever I'm present in the cabin?!?!?!
