Still waiting for someone to post data other than vent temps..... personally I would like to see what are the temps at the entrance and exit of both condensers, at least, for both forward and reverse flow situations. First is to benchmark the std arrangement, in order to get an idea of how much heat is getting removed from the rear cond and possibly added to the engine, very roughly, not going thru the Qdot calculations .
Then with the reverse flow setup someone could provide those temp numbers. In this case, the rear cond. should be cooler by the amount of heat removed by the front cond. So how much cooler air is the engine getting? 5 degrees or 40 degrees change ???? Will it make a difference in oil temps? We have heard all the talk and theories, the data will show. Well I was not going to get involved but ,...show the data.

George Why go through all that ;; simply hook up some temporary hoses after "you already know your current a/c vent temps with out this installed at a certain @ ambient temperature" After temporarily hooking up reverse the gases test it @ the same ambient temperature and take your vent temp temperature "with A THERMOMETER" "THAT WILL ACTUALLY MEASURE AIR TEMPERATURE"
ANALOG OR DIGITAL, I like digital meat/cooking thermometers the best because they are very fast readings of changing temperatures, and you can find them in most grocery stores NOT an IR or Laser pointing IR gun!! An infrared thermometer is a thermometer which infers temperature from a portion of the thermal radiation sometimes called blackbody radiation emitted by the object being measured. IT CAN NOT SENSE OR MEASURE AIR TEMPERATURE! An infrared thermometer is a thermometer which "infers temperature from a portion of the thermal radiation sometimes called blackbody radiation emitted by the object being measured" BUT NOT FROM AIR! You can use an IR gun for surface's temperatures, but again NOT ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE, A/C STANDS FOR "AIR CONDITIONER" NOT SURFACE TEMPERATURE! BUT if you must go ahead and do it the hard way the in out condenserS temps and the way you are wording what you are requesting will give you a skewed test result I am trying to help you the easiest way I forgot to say you can use an IR gun on the fittings on the condenser or the condenser itself because it is NOT AIR, it is surface temperature Last edited by KelogGes; 04-20-2015 at 03:06 PM.. |

Yeah, measurement instrumentation is what I do, and have been doing, for decades now. That reminds me, the calibrated micrometer I sent you to use to measure your, ummm, probe? It was in excellent condition to measure very small lengths. I could send you the more sensitive one, of you need to measure smaller. Which, no doubt, you do.
