Get off my lawn!

It is my toy.
I drive it for the autocross, occasional DE and on trips across country to PCA Parade. Next year is a long trip to Jay Peak, VT. 1,700 miles each way. I plan to hit all the little far NE states and knock all of them off my list. I plan to drive to all 48 lower states. I will also go into Canada next year and be international. I sure as heck will never drive into Mexico.

I briefly entertained a Ferrari F355. I have always wanted a Ferrari. I still do. The car I looked at had some mileage, for on F-car; perfect for me. Had all the right mods. Well maintained except for needing an engine out service for the timing belts (which I am capable of handling). But as I began to evaluate how I really used my 993 - stop and go, groceries, camping, kids to school, long trips to FL, work, errands, etc., etc - I really began to worry about the Ferrari's ability to handle my needs. So part of the deal would have involved an appliance car (old Accord, Camry, washing machine). In then end, I left it to fate: I told my dealer, if the car is still here when I get back from my CA family trip, I will buy it. It sold and I felt a great sense of relief!!!! It just wasn't the right car for me and I was getting emotional about it...trying to force a deal to happen. No regrets! The 993 has been a rock!!! BULLET PROOF (although it will now leave me stranded).
Somewhere, out there is my F-car...and it will not be a Spider (as was the one I nearly bought).

Aside from the occasional weekend drive, mine has proven to be a great learning experience.
It's taught me a lot about patience, how to mechanically take my time, and that the greatest things are the most difficult to attain... Recently it has become an awesome bonding/experience agent between my son and I.
