Mike has all that taken care of. He removes the gallery plugs and you can clean it.

I use a fine glass bead in a cabinet, all plugs and squirters removed, I have done it for years, not to be atempted without removing everything, this case was getting new squirters and a few oiling mods so it was not alot more labor involved, If you have seen Chris's car this is going in it needed to be done.

Going to paint mine Miami Blue over a black carpet kit! Cool thing is, if you choose to keep your spare, the lower left pipe is a removable piece. I myself do not use a spare tire.

I just went to the entire thread...wow. Where did you get your black RS carpet kit from? I have a charcoal one from AppBiz, but want to send it back for the black one. Also how did you install it to avoid all the bumps on the rear deck, etc.?

Appbiz as well. We grinded everything smooth in the back.

Got the motor stuff back from powder coat! WOW what a difference! Fan shroud, fan, valve covers, timing chain covers and all engine tins.

Can I ask a silly question about that sweet-looking strut brace?

All the pieces and parts look like they bolt together beautifully and create a nice rigid frame, but how does it accommodate front strut alignment changes?

This brace does not require any chassis modifications and is completely reversible, designed to be incredibly rigid offering the highest levels of chassis strengthening that can be offered by a chassis brace short of a full cage. With three active points of attachment at each corner to the chassis, each individual area can support incredible loads, and when combined this brace will ensure no chassis flex from the corners, tower collapse nor tower expansion (camber change mid corner).

Designed and executed the "X" brace locks the strut towers together at all 3 points per side of mounting. The resulting product is a super rigid structure that is not in need of additional bars going to the bottom of the strut tower. The cross bar is tied into the "X" sharing torsional load down to each corner of the front of the chassis allowing the forces that would normally twist the chassis to be spread over a large but very stiff area of triangulation using each side of the chassis to in effect brace against itself. Just as was found at IMSA & LeMans, our chassis brace gives you what you need in a lightweight package - everything you need, nothing you don't.

I think what Tom is asking, is how does the brace allow moving the strut tops to adjust alignment settings if the brace itself doesn't have any adjustability to it at the strut mounts? The bars don't have any threaded rod ends and none of the holes in the bar tabs or brackets are slotted.

This is exactly what I am wondering. Caster adjustment of the strut top (fore-aft) looks doable as I see slotted holes in the two ends of the brace closest to the front bumper. I am wondering about camber adjustment of the strut top (side-to-side) because as Kevin said, the strut brace looks to be a fixed width. Rebel racing makes some great stuff and I'm sure this adjustment was considered, I'm just curious how it's handled.

yes you guys are correct. I'm not well versed in that area. I was just at the shop and that's the first thing they pointed out. They are going to slot the mounts so that can be adjusted a couple millimeters. Speed Syndicate is doing the install and they do race support for some of the Rolex teams, so they are all over it. Really glad I went with them.

so i've just wrecked my entire afternoon here at work reading this whole thread and not doing anything productive (as far as my boss would be concerned).

tremendous build.

my only concern is that it seems to me that you've spent the strong majority of the time with this car in some state of disassembly and very seldom get to drive it. i hope once the new engine is complete that you will properly romp on this car every day until your last.

i'm only 6 months into (and have never driven) my build. very inspiring work. but all i think about is driving it. hats off to you for voluntarily taking it off the road so much to execute your goals/dreams.
