Those are 8' and 9' x 17.

I really wanted the 10' at the back, but was sold out, fortunately,
becouse I then I had to do something about the rearfenders, 1' .

Yes I read somewhere that RUF added an inch to the rear arches. 10's do look the part though, but alot of work to squeeze them in.

Just got a minute to snap a few pics.

On the front, I used a 964 smile, and the grille is just a piece of expanded metal from Lowes (sanded, primed and painted). Air dam is 1/4" thick conveyor belt rubber. No hoses on the brake ducts yet but the backing plates are in place. I'm going to run without a front plate as long as I can get away with it. There's a bar behind there to protect the tub too. Also did new H4s with 80/100 lamps and relays.

In the rear, I cut out a few of the lower slots for the tailpipes for the cutsom built MK muffler. The filler at the fenders is Turbo tail beading, and there's a protection bar that uses the original front bumper shocks. The license plate was trimmed down about 3/4" so it could mount flush at the top of the bumper and still clear the tailpipes. The frame is a custom waterjet-cut 3/16" aluminum piece, and the attaching bolts have hidden LEDs in them to light the plate. The tail is a factory '76-'76 3.0 Carrera piece with NOS rubber.

Oh yeah - 935 style mirrors too. Temporary attachment with DF tape, not sure if I'll keep them or not. They function OK, but I'm working on some cover plates for the original holes in the doors, and I'm not happy with that yet. Welding the holes up and repainting the doors would be the first thing I've done that couldn't be un-done. Got some Ruf A-pilar strips too, not installed yet.

I'm surprised at how much the air dam and tail have settled the car down. It's really noticeable, even at lower speeds. The first day it was out of the shop, I drove it about 40 miles in some very gusty crosswinds, and the car was amazingly stable. It really feels planted at speed now, and there's definitely more grip going into the fast sweepers. I couldn't be happier with all of it.

l have a question on my rear bumper. it's a better bodies unit and there is a large gap from the top of the bumper to the lower edge of the tail lights. what's the best thing to put in there a chunk of hose or a filler strip or wire mesh?
some bumpers don't have this gap, l wish l had one! Or knew about it.

I have seen people use the OEM rubber gasket that goes in there. I saw one with two joined together and it looked perfect.

Restoration shops/suppliers sell weatherstripping and seals in bulk. The type of seal you want is a "D" seal. The D seal will replicate the factory rubber gasket pretty well.

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger and purchase the bumpers for my "RUF" conversion. Did anyone purchase a set of the B&W bumpers that they are now no longer planning to use? If so, I'm interested.

If these are not available, which manufacturer has the best quality bumpers?

Having recently purchased an early RUF SCR I would be interested to know how you have dealt with the interior conversion of your cars! I am contemplating replacing the rather ugly original seats with a pair of Recaro SPG could you let me know you thoughts/suggestions and pictures would be great!
