How do I replace the rubber material around engine bay?

Does anyone know how I can replace this rubbery flap that runs along the sides and back of the engine bay?
I'm not even sure how you remove it... or if that's even possible?

Definitely possible to replace. I have only done it with the engine out of the car. I think it would be very hard to do with the engine installed, if not impossible. Wait until your next engine drop.

It is actually two flaps, one over the tin one under, it slides into a "track"

It helps if engine is out but I suppose it could be removed with a partial drop and some lube

Perfect... so I can just tug on it real hard on one side and pull the top and bottom flaps out??

Does anyone know the replacement part numbers for these pieces??

I guess the other question is... can the originals be restored/reshaped?

As I mentioned, they've developed a wavy pattern to them (probably from heat) that's trapping a lot of debris.

(FYI... engine is already out)

Thank you... now I just have to figure out what the 'long section' and 'short section' refers to in Pelican's description.

Short section goes laterally across front of engine. Long section goes around remaining three sides (two sides and rear). These are plainly shown on Parts Diagram on website. Happy trails learning to use info that Pelican provides.

hmmm... ??

I only have 3 sections total... left and right sides of the frame, and the frame section towards the front of the car.
From what I can tell, the front section is the longest (and curves slightly), while the left and right are the shortest.

I can only imagine what a chore it would be to try and replace the seal with the engine in the car. It takes a bit of work to get the seal to slid into the channel even with all of the space of an empty engine compartment. The "long section" goes on the left ,right and rear as one piece. The "short section" is the piece in the front side (under the shock mount area) Here are some photos Good luck

Yeah, I replaced mine when I had my motor out and it was brittle and would break if you pushed on it too hard. The new one is pliable and wavy, and it seals the top and bottom of the tin quite well.

What about the body seal between the torsion tube and tub? Mine fell out on my face while working on fuel lines. Was wondering if I should replace. Looks easier to access than the one shown above.

I just did this to my 930, with the engine out. Still a bit of a pain. OEM parts are long section in a U shape, for the sides and back; short section as a single piece for the area under the shock mounts. Bought the parts from our host.

For what it's worth, the rear channel on my car was deteriorated and starting to rot away (but nothing else around it was messed up). Found the correct channel from Sierra Madre.

Its a real PITA replacing, trust me.
If yours is not fully worn/ripped, then clean and lubricate it and your good.

Silicone spray and a plastic dash tool with a dull point on it. Partial engine drop then silicone the metal channel and the seal about 1 foot at a time. Insert the lower edge in the channel then use the plastic dash tool to press in the top. Expect it to take 1 hour on a lift. Along with lot's of cursing. If you're doing it on the floor you have my sympathy. I would pull the engine before I'd do it on the floor.
