I have a dumb question...

I realize that you cut down the W/S to make it fit. How do you cut the door glass to work with the new rake? It's tempered glass so I understand it doesn't cut well and since it's curved, you can't just use laminate glass here either unless I am somehow mistaken.

Notched and braced a part of the cage to get the throttle body in and clear.

rebel, if it was me instead of putting in a 180 degree i would extend the air cleaner on into the back seat area..properly enclosed of course.

This car will re define "SICK" when it's finished.

Hats off to you for going your own way.

Rebel911 04-11-2010 10:41 AM

Thanks, that was the plan.
An old car that makes people look twice to see the changes I've made.
Crazy horse power to please the inner child.
A car that will be a functioning project for years to come.

Came across these images of the RUF V8 and made me think of your car for the intake.

Has anyone tried flipping the intake to see what the clearance looks like? Would be interested to see if the if the intake or TB could be modified to use the RUF style filter.

I just read a letter to the editor in Excellence about a guy who was pissed that they featured a LS1 914. I don't understand how these guys can be exclusive "Porsche" lovers without loving just all around automobile engineering. To me it is like loving one supermodel and hating the rest because you did not buy their posters as a child. I am personally a car guy first, porsche guy second. My point being, screw that guy who wrote the letter. I hope you're in excellence one of these days.

Love your LS1 build.

I met Scott from Renegade last weekend. What an awesome guy!

One of hs customers showed up to our driving event with a recent renegade LS1 install into a mid year 928. The installation was very sano and the car sounded excellent.

That makes a lot of sense considering how expensive and complex a 928 engine is to rebuild.
I bet we start seeing more of these 928s in the future.

Tonight I'll see what kind of space there is to turn the intake around like the RUF. should be interesting.

Got the harness and computer back. The harness was reworked to leave only what I need. Everything was labeled, relays put in and a fuse block. The computer was programmed for my application, deleting all unnecessary stuff.

Feels like I got hit with a sledge hammer in the face. i have a 102 temp with a sinus infection. I all i got done this weekend is pull the engine and transaxke.
later this week, once I feel better, i will run the harness and start fabing up the exhaust. I hate being sick!

I love that they labeled everything on the harness - it'll come in real handy if there are ever any issues later.

Rebel911 05-09-2010 04:23 AM

the harness turned out perfect

the exhaust is finished I just have to wrap them. think this will be quiet enough?
