Ok I'm finally giving this some serious consideration since my garage will finally be done in a couple weeks.. Does anyone have or offer a complete parts list for this conversion ?

ECU + harness
EFI Injector Blocks & Fuel Rails (TK) Injectors -- we use/sell Injector Dynamics or Siemens Fuel pressure regulator -- pressure depends on sequential or semi-batch MAP sensor -- usually GM 3bar TPS + adapter kit (TK) Head temp sensor + adapter kit (TK) Air temp sensor (usually GM 3/8NPT) Crank/flywheel speed sensor & trigger -- mag or hall; factory mag sensor + machining your flywheel perimeter for timing teeth = very easy, reliable Camshaft synch signal, hall -- if doing full sequential Ignition -- how fancy you want it? a. Lock down distributor, use CDI & coil b. Distributorless coil-on-plug, smart coils triggered directly by the ECU We carry all this stuff, make it easy for you. The only thing we don't sell is the MS computer & harness. A few other things you can add for safety / fail safe setups, or just for info: * fuel pressure * oil pressure * oil temp Boost control is also easy, solenoid valve and factory low/high switch = clean installation

Coil on Plugs whick ones?
Hi All
MS3 Pro will be here any day. Trying to decide which coil packs to go with. Audi R8 Coils ![]() Or Honda V6 coils ![]() Anyone have any experience with either? I understand that the Audi coils are a 4 wire coil. Power, Ground, Signal, and Ground to ECU. Where as Honda is only 3 wire Power, Ground, and Signal. Would the Audi coils be better from a noise standpoint? Any fitment issues on the lower valve cover? Thanks John

Chris from Tubrokraft can you modify the Oil Pump housing to accept a hall sensor for me?
If so how much? Thanks John

I was going VAG recently, but read lots of threads in MSExtra forums about losing spark as they get hotter. Something about them needing more power than what the ECU can supply requiring additional igniter boxes or buffer boxes or something?
But, those were related to NON-MS3Pro boxes. Might want to take a quick look before pulling trigger. I know I wanted the VAG coils because they pop in perfectly apparently in out valve covers. |

MS3 Pro Arrives
Hi All
Well Christmas came early. The MS3 Pro arrived today. Thanks Derek. Looks to be of high quality. Still have some items to purchase. COPs, Hall Cam Sensor, CHT sensor, Electronic Boost Controller, 80 lbs. Injectors. Where is best place to install the unit? I was thinking of fabbing up a mounting plate, that fits under passenger seat. Regards John

If I could do it again, I'd put mine behind the panel in the back seat on the drivers side.
With those straight connectors, youre probably limited to underseat. |

Thanks Tippy
That's where my current SDS ECU is mounted. I guess I could just re-use the existing mounting plate. Regards John

Hey John, i'm curious about that MS3 harness, is there instructions that detail which coloured wire connects to which sensor etc? Something a dummy like me can figure out?
Any chance I can come checkout your set up once you've dove into it. I live about 1.5 hours away, I can't offer any useful technical support but can bring coffee!

We tried over 20 different COP units -- German, US, Japanese -- to find ones that work exceptionally well on the 911 engines. * checking for fitment on the engine: * whether it would clear the frame rails with the engine in the car so you could actually service it (we once got a customer's car in that another shop had done -- impossible to R&I the coils with the engine in! Idiots.) * whether they had the firepower to support serious cylinder pressure -- so far, we've done over 125hp/cylinder without a problem. A drag car on the dyno did 44psi, no spark issues. We settled on a Toyota/Lexus-application COP that is easily supporting 125+hp/cylinder. We were blown away when we saw a 4-cylinder Time Attack car on the dyno run 45psi boost with these COPs and have no ignition issues. They fit quite securely, or you can restrain with the old RSR-style hold-down tabs if desired. Quote:
Which sensor do you have -- or do you need one, too? Last job we did with machining + sensor + connector was $245.

Behind the seats, on the vertical panel at the end of the floor pan.

Hi Chris
Thanks for info on Toyota plugs. Can you give me a price for a set of 12? Please PM me. I do not have sensor yet. $245 sounds good to me. I will get oil pump housing removed over Christmas and send it down to you. Does your sensor come with pull up resistor? Thanks John

My plan is to start diving into things after Christmas. My first task is to remove my old setup. The most challenging thing being the crank pulley. Your welcome to come to my place anytime. Chris at Turbokraft is going to modify the oil pump to accept a new hall sensor for the cam trigger. I hope to keep posting my progress as things happen. Regards John

But I'm having 2nd thoughts regarding: a) the exposure to being bumped/kicked b) don't necessarily want to advertise the EFI conversion so openly. I'm thinking I prefer a more stealth install...

The MS3-Pro Fits under the drivers seat just fine.
I followed the same route for the harness as the factory did on the NA Carrera. In the corner of the drivers side passenger area where the floor pan meets the rear seat lateral wall there is a gromet/plug. I just went to the local junkyard and found a wiring harness grommet with the same diameter and used that. |
