Probably the C model, but the E isn't a whole lot different.

Trivia, an F15E Strike Eagle is the only aircraft to score an air to air kill with a laser guided bomb.

They were supposed to hit rotorcraft on the ground in Desert Storm. When they got to the target area the rotorcraft were already airborne and the crew said what the heck and dropped on them anyway. To their surprise it tracked the airborne target.

For those of yo that have been using the portable ADS-B receivers in your aircraft such as Sentry, Stratus, Stratux, or any of the handful available to GA pilots, have you experienced phantom, traffic alerts via your Electronic devices?

I imagine that by repositioning the receiver in the aircraft, might allow better antenna location but I was also wondering if this is something "prone" to the portable units. I have been getting a rash of phantom alerts recently and the only thing I can come up with is unit location, but it has been just been in the past couple of days and the receiver hasn't moved. Either that it could be those pesky "TICTACKS" and due to the speeds involved, I am just not seeing them....LOL! I am running a Stratux so I know that is an experimental ADS-B receiver and I have been eyeing the "Sentry" by Uavionix, so that brought up the question if the phantoms are prone to all of the devices. Anyone care to chime in on this?

Took the wifey for a flight last night and as I was doing the pre-flight, CDF bombers went screaming by close to pattern altitude headed to a spot fire south of our field. I would really hate to get a phantom alert only to see one of these fast movers headed in from another direction. As they say, the C-150 is the only aircraft that can take a birdstrike from the rear.

Sincerely,
Curious
I always thought of the 150/152 as an early gen Miata. They don't have an abundance of power, but they fit so well. Of course a Champ or J3 would be like a Lotus 7. A Carbon Cub would be more akin to a V8 Caterham Super 7.

Hahaha, I like it!!!

In all fairness, my only gripe is the power deal. We have owned this lil guy since 2003 and it doesn’t get any more affordable regarding aircraft ownership.

Cheap to feed and insure and overall own. It’s light on the controls and a good trainer, simply because you can’t use power to get yourself out of a hole.

I offered it up for the boys and the Mrs. to learn in but no nibbles. I would have given my left nut for that opportunity had my dad offered.

Most of the time in those you can pull the power and let go of everything and it will get itself out of trouble!

Another thing I prefer is they are all metal. Fabric isn't quite as "durable".

Repainted the prop. I won’t say it looks like new, but it’s much better than it was and I’m always worried about corrosion down here.

We lost a friend of the family when an improperly repaired prop on his Cherokee 6 lost 8 inches on one blade on an angel flight at night over heavily wooded Minnesota.

Another commute flight shot down

KMAX firing up, CDF Bronco and Bombers screaming over at pattern altitude. Just not worth the risk.

So now a one hour drive vs a 20 minute hop. At least I was reminded why I hate driving the road so much following a slow mover that doesn’t know what turn outs are for...
The wife just sent me some updates

Very sorry to hear about that.
That’s the main reason I had the prop overhauled on ours. It all started with me attempting to replace the aged McCauley stickers with repos.

Pulled the paint right off to the bare aluminum. So I decided to strip the paint and shoot it with some fresh flat black. I found some scratches and other dings I didn’t like. Then add the fact I didn’t have any history other than remove, inspect and re-install. Pulled the trigger on an overhaul and now I even have a prop log. The shop even had some original proper stickers too.

I even took it one step further and removed the paint from the spinner and hand sanded and polished.

Thank you for the VariEze pictures - my dad recently passed (02.19) and he too had built a VariEze which is now on static display. Donated to a local CC where he taught A&P after 30+ years of AF service. 3 war veteran (Flight Engineer B-29 WWII; F-80 pilot Korea and FAC OV-10 Vietnam). He loved to fly and fortunately for me we did spend some quality time in his Eze. Brought back very good memories for me - thank you again.

2007 185 Skywagon work.
All assembly and test done myself after sending: 1. Engine to Western Skyways for overhaul 2. Prop to a local shop for inspection 3. Avionics upgrade designed by and bought from American Avionics. Wiring installation, termination and documentation completed by myself. Corrosion control rework of tail assembly completed by myself and one assistant. 14 months downtime.

Panel vintage 1981

Engine removed - discovered bad cam during first annual

O/H engine arrives, is unpacked. Prop back in shop

Engine reinstalled

Panel stripped
