I don't think that's the problem there, but thanks for deflecting.
As far as I'm concerned in that situation, the unvaccinated patients can go in the hallway. From the link you didn't read: Crisis care standards mean that scarce resources such as ICU beds will be allotted to the patients most likely to survive. Other patients will be treated with less effective methods or, in dire cases, given pain relief and other palliative care.

My employer just moved to the second of 4 reduced services phases. There are no beds available now. So, if you need a surgery that is not an emergency and requires admission for recovery, don't call us, we'll call you.

"The unvax'd must be denied care - it's for their own good."
paraphrasing.

On July 1st treatments supplied were about 10% of cases and had grown to 20% by 8/18. In that same time frame, 6/30 -8/18, the highest use states used the following. Approximate %. I realize these 5 had high rates of infection and would logically order as much as they possible could. They did order a very high percentage of total doses available. Supply during that time frame went from about 10% to a peak of 20% of total national cases. If that same trend continued (unknown) I can see why limitation have been put in place. Based on what Regeneron reports the restrictions will probably last until 4th quarter when the "vast majority " of the latest purchase will be shipped. If anyone has more recent data I would gladly do a similar workup. Florida 670,000 cases and 125,000 doses.or 18.7% Texas 400,000 and 94,000 or 23.5% Louisiana 161,000 and 60,000 or 37% Mississippi 78,000 and 56,000 or 72% Alabama 62,000 and 37,000 or 60% https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-02/u-s-shipping-enough-monoclonals-to-treat-1-in-5-covid-cases ![]() ![]() https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/regeneron-announces-new-us-government-agreement-to-purchase-additional-doses-of-regen-cov-casirivimab-and-imdevimab-antibody-cocktail-301376898.html Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Defense (DOD) will purchase 1.4 million additional doses of REGEN-COV (casirivimab and imdevimab). The government will continue to provide REGEN-COV at no cost to patients. Under the new agreement, Regeneron will supply an additional 1.4 million 1,200 mg doses of REGEN-COV to the U.S. government by January 31, 2022, at a cost of $2,100 per dose. This new agreement follows two earlier agreements with the U.S. government announced in July 2020 and January 2021. Regeneron expects to begin delivering the additional REGEN-COV doses to the U.S. government in September, with the vast majority delivered in Q4 2021. Regeneron will record all net sales associated with this agreement. Pursuant to a prior agreement, Roche will manufacture approximately one third of the doses for Regeneron to fulfill this new agreement with the U.S. government. If there's an imbalance, gotta wonder why after spending 3T or more and 9 months, the country can't produce enough for everyone.

2,100 x 350,000,000 = $735,000,000,000
That's a lot of dividends!! It's nice that the government is paying for all of this medicine..for free.. But yet the most vulnerable POC are being denied treatment. (um what happened to those values) https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/08/40-illegal-aliens-bused-texas-city-test-positive-covid-19/ The city of Laredo, Texas, has refused to take in migrants who have been bused in from elsewhere on the border after discovering 40% of them tested positive for the coronavirus, according to two local government officials.

You have 3 too many zeros in your calc.
And the actual purchase is 3 million doses. |

I fixed the zeros missing from the calculation.
3 million doses for 350 million people? How does that work? That barely covers 'undocumented' immigrants. Only slightly more expensive than masks. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/california-gov-newsom-wont-share-details-on-1b-mask-deal-with-china

A boatload. There are other monoclonal treatments that have been EUA.
I believe Sotrovimab and Actemra. One was dropped but I believe those two are still approved. I believe the US has agreed to purchase at least a million treatments of those. States can purchase if there is supply available. Florida has mentioned that as a possibility. |
