Flat six song? An air cooled 911 sounds like a 67 bug with a huge hair dryer in the back. Now a mustang GT ? Now that’s a song.

Where'd I say that? As far as I'm aware, the new GT3 is a flat 6. In fact....so is the old GT3.....and the GT2.....even a 996TT.

My 911 has the wonderful singing of the cam chains and a great sound all the way to 6,400 RPM. My old 73 Super Bug had a red line of 4,000 and just pushrods rattling when cold. Not even remotely the same. Are you related to Jeremy Clarkson?

The Plaid is certainly fast as it has a top speed of the 80s supercars, but not anywhere near the fastest top speed. That track time is slower than the old Viper with the boat anchor, pushrod ICE and bad tires not to mention almost a minute slower than a current 911. Plus, how many laps can the Plaid do per day? How would it do at Le Mans? So no, I do not consider t to be the fastest production car in the world as you stated.

Ok, you are right. But! No slouch! And it is the quickest production car in the world.

Glen, in 11 years no one has ever said Wow! Your 85 911 sounds cool!!!!! Never. With that fan it just sounds Loud in the cabin. So loud a nice radio is not needed. Now when I had my Mustang GT, people I did not know at the market said they loved the V8 burble. As age sets in there is loss in the higher frequencies.

I’m not talking about the sound of a super 911. I’m talking about a car like mine. 85 Carrera . coupe of course.

I will admit a very slight possible prejudice, but after many 12 hour drives I love that engine sound.
Yea, it is not the deep V8 rumble many people like, but it music to my ears.

Is that me imagining it, or does the speedo background go "plaid" when launched?
Nice touch if so. Looking at it a few times, maybe not. Q_Q |

Let Tesla have a crack at winning Le Mans if they want to make a performance statement that matters.
Because until they do that, it's meaningless statistics coming out of a butt ugly car, inside and out.

A Mustang GT still sounds better than a regular air cooled 911. Just fan noise! I don’t think a Le Mans car can do 0-60 in 2 seconds. I was never talking about endurance racing, just a really fast, quick car.

A friend had a 928 4S that sounded great with a lot or rumble. I think it would be horrible on a road trip, but I never tried it.
The new Mustangs and the flat plane crank are an annoying sound to me, especially on an Autocross track or race track. Only one step up from a Harley potato potato potato noise.

Everyone has to agree for a drag race the Tesla is stupid fast for a street car, daily driver. It is heavy however. On a lap of the Nürburgring "north loop" it is one minute slower than the 911 GT2RS, the current lap record holder for a production car, unmodified from the showroom. A full minute!
That 911 GT2 RS is a great car, but I doubt many people will be commuting to work in it like they will in the Tesla.
