Count calories.

These meals are under 500 calories..

Chicken breast with mashed cauliflower.

Two eggs, one piece of bacon, low carb tortilla/or two and a sprinkle of lite ranch.

Chicken breast (or two) with riced cauliflower

This is under 400 calories

2 packets of oatmeal with various flavorings in them.

This is 1,100 calories.

Five 12 oz Voodoo Ranger IPA's

11.58 Busch Lights

5.19 Two Hearted Ales

Keep it to 2000 calories and a fat boy will lose weight.

Trade out one voodoo ranger for two apples for grins with no calorie difference.
I almost stopped reading at 'one piece of bacon'. Whoever heard of one piece of bacon?

That was my goal, drop 25 in 8 weeks. I did it in 7 weeks and kept going to 8.

Lost 28 lbs total.

When I dropped my body fat into single digits, it took me 15 weeks, tons of cardio and weight training and a super strict diet. It was not fun but the results were amazing.

I tried to stick with 1800 calories a day. 500-600 calories a meal. If I stick to that I drop weight pretty fast.

Also Dogfishhead has a low cal IPA called Lo-Res IPA, its not great, but it is decent and 90 calories. When I really wanted a beer, it was better then light beer.

I belatedly noticed I'd put on some visceral fat a few years ago. My wife & I are on our second year of intermittent fasting - 8/16. My weight was around 175-177 (5'10"), & I've dropped & stayed around 170. It seems like it takes much longer to get rid of it than to put it on. I turn 80 this year, so that may have something to do with it. I recommend trying the 8/16 thing. After two years, I haven't felt hungry in the mornings for a long time and feel like I need to eat a little less for the lunch time & dinner meals to avoid feeling stuffed. Not eating after 8 PM pretty much rules out my glass of scotch. No breakfast saves time in the mornings too. I also walk 3 miles (uphill & down hill) doing exercises with my heavy hand weights (5 lbs.) three or more times a week. I can't stave off the loss of muscle mass or the falling of my chest, etc., but I'd like to keep what I can for as long as I can & not have my wife & sister teasing me about being a barrel with stick arms & legs someday.

"The Battle of the Bulge" is on going for most of us.
- And it seems to be getting worse... It's a real problem but not having enough is even worse.

What I'd recommend: Move everyday and stop eating until can't fit anymore in. It's OK to leave food on your plate.

On alcohol: There's nothing wrong with having a few drinks with friends.

I often drink a beer as I'm cooking a BBQ at home but rarely more than one. Wine is good with company. Scotch when I feel like celebrating. But I don't drink everyday. Maybe once or twice a week but sometimes I can go many weeks without touching anything with alcohol in it.

If you find yourself drinking alone that's generally the start of problems IMO.

Left out the "weather control" aspect here.

No more walk/jog outside until the other hip is replaced. Everything is inside!

57 here, I subscribe to this guys Youtube channel, follow many of his work out routines and diet plan.

Me last summer competing in the Escape the Cape Traithlon. That's me orange cap on the left at the edge of the boat waiting my turn to start.

EDIT: Vash and others I recently switched my beer from Miller Lite to Corona Premium. 4% alcohol and only 90 calories.

First of all, not only is your hair the wrong color there is entirely too much of it for you to be discussing stuff like this with venerable old farts such as I.

I'm the one on the right.

I lost 25 pounds in two months as I had put a good 20 on after the May bypass surgery. I quit smoking and once I got some strength I started eating like a horse for a couple of months.

So the first 20 was low hanging fruit.

Lets see what happens in the next two months.

Jeff, that RG500 must really fly with a 140# rider!

It’s funny because I spent a fair amount on a lightweight lithium battery for one of my street bikes but I could eliminate a lot more weight with a diet and exercise program like some of you guys. There are some very fit members here in my age group, it’s inspirational.

Obviously, there are many other benefits to losing excess weight but the *faster motorcycle* motivation works for me!

It’s funny how weight can creep up. Most men are pretty strong and don’t notice hauling extra cargo if it’s gradual. I was shocked when my weight approached 200…I used to be 165 forever when I was younger. I’m down in the 180s and goal is 175.

Alcoholism is an entirely different situation. thankfully that is not my problem. although, ironically, both full blown alcoholics i knew were both surprisingly skinny. (they never ate)

a gram of booze is just a tiny bit less calories than a gram of fat. it adds up.

my liver appears to be acting up. i'm gonna lay off the juice.
