I'll play....
Seems as though Canadians are allowed this time..... so I'm going to throw my hat in the ring...
Not sure what the criteria for judging is, but with the help of Pelican Parts and THE FORUM!!!! I have indeed done everything myself. Body, paint, interior, wheels, motor, transmission, MFI system, tuning. I farmed out the tig welding on the fan housing (Thanks Ben/MB911), sizing and rebushing of the rods (thanks CGARR) and refinishing rockers (thanks Camgrinder). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/979976-project-heavy-metal-all-steel-classic-remastered.html ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Well I’m almost embarrassed to add mine considering what’s already been posted. https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-964-993-technical-forum/1098094-picked-up-keeper-marine-blue-964-a.html
Mine’s more “detail” oriented meant to take a good car and bring it to concours levels. I’m not there yet so don’t judge ![]() ![]()

Alright, here's my entry:
1977 1977 2.9 Andial Targa Budget Build ![]() I don't have the pocketbooks or fabrication skills of some of the other members here (jelly!) but what I did try to do this time was document my entire build in video format to show others what I've learned, and hopefully inspire some other people to tackle their own projects. I've had so many build threads in hte past disappear into the ether as image hosting sites changed hands or broke links, so this time I wanted to permanently share my build in video format. I'm not a professional youtuber or video editor, I have a day job and editing each one of these videos takes hours and hours of time. Where I am as of yesterday: ![]() ![]() In every single video I've uploaded, my description points people here to the forums on Pelican, as it is the best resource on the internet for our cars. This has been the biggest, most expensive build of my life, and I didn't even split my case. Excited to be here, happy to continue to learn more and up my skill set. Cheers!

a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated. It has been a blast reading through all the awesome threads and perhaps some of you may have even learned a thing or two! We are happy to announce our top 3 builders, as voted by you, the Pelican Parts community! -The grand prize goes to Jonny042 and his incredible thread documenting the meticulous work on his 1978 911 backdate, from interior to paint, building the engine, and more. -Second place went to TeeJayHoward and his 1981 911SC, with comprehensive overhaul of his interior, engine, and more. -Third goes to Bergo, with his 1974 911 project he's backdating to a '73 RSR "tribute" with a 3.4L motor. We'll be contacting all winners to get you your gift certificates! ![]() |
