Why the street race in Detroit? Bell isle looked so much better. The city is depressing, parking garages and abandionded looking buildings. I am a fan of Detroit making a comeback but this race made Nashville look like the Riviera

Someone explained that the citizens wanted Belle Isle for use as it was intended. In the case of Long Beach construction starts about 3 months before the race. They start with the stands and the K rails where it doesn't affect traffic and businesses located near the track. They string out the fencing and leave openings until Thursday before the race. Our track stays closed for 3 days so streets are not navigable. A lot of it is on a parking lot including all the paddock, so they build all that early too. Bridges are built at night. Some of the streets aren't really necessary for people to get around. But once the track is finished, if you are at the Hyatt, you can walk there and walk out. Roads are closed.

I assume the same construction occurred at Belle Isle restricting the park a lot. The people of Detroit apparently got tired of it.

I first started keeping an eye on that bag of douche
earlier this year when he made a bonehead move and
ran Grosjean off the track at a road race in turn 2.

Ferrucci didn't finish the race after several collisions
and during the interview he was asked about his
questionable move on Grosjean.
He replied "well he gat passed me later as my car
was damaged so it's all good".

Happened last year to his teammate, Callum Illiot, and the lack of a response from the team and Canapino is why he left for McLaren and sportscars. Lame excuse is that in Argentina its a cultural norm to threaten death to sports opponents. But these dudes are in a US series w/ US dollars and if they can't sort it then yeah, they deserve to suffer.
The ugly part of the last episode is that Canapino did a big presser about tolerance and peace but on social media liked a ton of death threats. So theres that....

Yeah, Canapino has been the big loser in this entire episode. He basically even denied that any threats were made on social media No respect for this guy anymore. And I think Argentina has been angling to get on the Indycar schedule - this won't help that cause at all.

Why would they schedule Road America same weekend as F1 Montreal? The F1 usually go every other weekend. Indy schedule condensed for goodness sakes have it different day so you can help grow the sport.

At least with Monte Carlo it’s in the AM with the 500 later in the day.
