I don't recognize this (as a) hazmat symbol, but apparently USPS did.....here's how the package was delivered...sitting on my sidewalk out front no less....lol....

That label must have been on the box from something the seller received.

Music box plays just fine...nothing exploded when the music stopped or anything. :D

Hey Baz,

The emblem on that package looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it, then I had a lightbulb moment.

I remember catching a video regarding a Royal Marine poking fun at officers comparing what they eat in relation to the enlisted. It was on the side of their version of meal rations.

So I wonder if your clock was shipped over from the U.K. or E.U. using a ration box. Too funny our USPS freaked...

File it under useless trivia for $500 Bob,[emoji23]
Cheers

Wow....good catch there, Bugs. Maybe I'll contact the seller and ask. Will keep you in the loop.

OK so this afternoon my truck's alternator went out (when your instruments go dead, you better start finding a place to pull over very soon!) Luckily this happened only blocks from the local auto-electric shop I use. This place is an institution too! Been going there so many years we're like family. So while I wait for my alternator rebuild, I took a few pics of this baby....how sweet it is! Automatic though....:(

I'm thinking your Castle is much more grand of a place to visit. More of a distinguished history than one built for troubled yutes and in a bad state like the one we visited.

Worked late today at one of my accounts. It's right on the beach so I get to check the surf and gawk at the females, when appropriate.

Late in the day the place empties out. Tonight a boy and girl. He with his boogie board. She with her blonde hair....

Hello cowgirl in the sand
Is this place
at your command
Can I stay here
for a while
Can I see your
sweet sweet smile
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same?
It's the woman in you
that makes you want

My mother's mother sent out the announcements.
My father's mother used it to add some artistic talent to her wedding gift.

Dropped a GTX1070 (the 1080s are overpriced imo) and a needed PSU into the computer an awesome pelican built.

-Corsair honored their rebate.
-EVGA outright refused to honor theirs, even after admitting they had all the needed info and proof-of-purchase was known and obvious. I had meticulously prepared and documented everything. I then had to drive another two hours to get my money from the store.

Too dark indoors to get any good shots, so now I'm saving up for a faster lens :D

This always ticks me off...
Trying to load pictures of the Huntington library from the cactus garden, same camera, same day, same setting as my previous two posts...
But Pelican rejects them as "file too large".
Anyone know what is up with that?

Thanks for those wonderful bonsai pics, Scott!

Which reminds me.

Just finished a project this morning and the owner had this artistic piece of driftwood laying on the back patio. I had a small open space leftover and decided to put her driftwood there. She gets in tomorrow and I hope she will love this small finishing touch. As a designer, sometimes the best things happen when not planned ahead of time....

complexity of the image. An image of something that doesn't have lots of detail, color, texture will be smaller than an image with lots of detail, color, texture when compressed, because all of that extra stuff doesn't compress as well.

The two images below are of the same composition at essentially the same time, but one has a longer exposure, so lots more detail. The image that's mostly just a very dark blue/black sky is 57k, the image that has more detail everywhere including the sky is over 50% larger at 89k.
