Got lucky twice. Patience paid off and knowing how the Navy likes to stick to a plan.

Both photo's taken from my front yard as they headed home at the end of the day.

Doing some errands today and this customized Honda was parked nearby. Love the colour and even more that kids are still hot rodding their cars!

The spiders have been getting busy these days. Most of them demolish their webs in the morning and rebuild in the evenings, but not all of them.

With the relatively cool and wet beginning to the summer here, we had a great year for spiders at the Armadillo Ranch. Plenty of bugs to feed them. Here is a plump garden spider hanging outside the screen porch.

This fellow was parked on the screen outside while I took its picture from the inside.

Because of the bumper crop of spiders, the wasps had banner year as well. Here an over eager spider wasp caught him a big one.

Back from a 3 island get away, planned for last year, pulled it off this year!

Maui for starters, trade winds waited until just before we got there. Rainbows, bloody beautiful sunsets and perfect temps tipped the balance to the awesome side.

Hey Molokai, you are next!

Deep fried Coconut Prawns, a brew, my adventure partner and a view... food was terrific every where we ate out.
We always hit a big grocery store right after landing and provision for most of the week.
I'm Spoiled now with ocean front condos, everything you need, space, privacy and meals out on the lanai. Don't think I can go back to cheaper options without throwing a fit.

Haleakala was sublime but windy! sustained 30 mph and higher gusts had us in down jackets and gloves... we don't pack like normal Hawaii goers.
