I had a serious "Blade Runner" moment in the last confrontation between Cavell and Ellen. Lots of similarity to the final scene between Tyrell and Roy Batty. Anyone else notice that?

Ok.. I'm sorry... My kid was using me as a climbing wall and my wife was nagging me with non-BSG related questions... But I haven't got a clue what happened, I'm completely lost... Time travel ? The thirteenth colony repairing resurrection hubs or something? What ??? Has anybody got the cliff notes ? I followed all until this episode but now I am completely lost as to what Anders revealed.... (I'm good with Ellen and the cracks on the ship, simple stuff ;-) Can you summarize the rest in a way that makes sense for the simple minded please ? BSG for dummies, like ?
Edit: never mind, but if you are as confused as me, this is a good recap ! http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2009/02/battlestar_galactica_no_exit_t.html Last edited by Deschodt; 02-15-2009 at 05:25 PM.. |

Yeah, I'd say we're on our way to a revelation about humans, especially now that we know the 13th colony Cylons reproduced biologically rather than resurrected.

Do the final five's spines light up when they have sex?

Some comments regarding last night's episode (Deadlock - Ep 418)
1. Interesting that Ellen was upset with the fact that Saul Tigh slept with Caprica Six, a "child" of the original five, yet she slept with John Cavil, another son of 'theirs.' Interesting paralellism. 2. Boomer's back on Galactica. Another 'complete' the cycle per Ron D. Moore - Chief Tyrol is back as chief, and Boomer's back. But - Where is Helo? We haven't seen him in quite a few episodes... 3. Cylon goop on Galactica - I wonder if this will turn the Galactica into another GPS unit like Starbuck's new Viper. Speaking of Starbuck - tomorrow, we may get a clue as to who she found on Earth in her cockpit. -Z-man.

1. What's interesting is he had the same excuse she did for sleeping with John/Cavil - she didn't now she was a Cylon at the time, same as Saul. 2. Helo has appeared briefly in each previous ep, still injured from the mutiny. Most likely his role was reduced for his work on Whedon's "Dollhouse." 3. I thought we were heading towards the revelation that humans were simply a different species of Cylon, but that would make the Final 5's solution (cross-breeding the two groups) meaningless.

Blah. "Deadlock" didn't do too much for me. The most significant thing was that it's setting up a potentially interesting shooting war between the Sons of Aries and Baltar's monotheistic sect. Might be interesting. Everything else was boring, frankly. Listening to Ellen (unconvincingly) try to play herself as the visionary leader of the Cylons was horrible. I can't stand her character - she's a drunken whore with no vision or coherent leadership skills other than knowing how to manipulate people by f*king them. The choice of her as the "final cylon" was terrible, IMHO. A real dud in the writing.
Was there ever any doubt that Tigh would go to the base ship? C'mon. Fabricated drama that wasn't. The cylon goop stuff is a somewhat interesting analogy of becoming a "hybrid" society. I wonder what human technology will end up on the base ship to make that one a hybrid too (the jump drive from the raptor last season?) The death of the pure cylon baby was interesting, but not the least bit unexpected. I hope the next few episodes are better.

The whole episode was the level of writing of a soap opera. "Tonight on 'As The Baseship Turns'....Will Sam come out of his coma? Will the final five vote to leave? Whose baby is it? Will Ellen survive her brain transplant....?" etc.
Sucked. Hope next week is better.

Good episode. Starting to tie together loose ends. I mentioned in another thread in another forum that with the piano man, now there is a connection between Baltar and Starbuck - they both see 'angels.' And now that connection was more solidified with Starbuck trusting Baltar.
So where are they going? In the sneak peak for next week's show -there is a mission -- which sounds like the final journey of Galactica. Are they going back to Earth? To Caprica? New Caprica? My guess is: they are going to go back to Kobol, and make that their home. 2 more episodes to go... -Z-man.

I think we're going to have a "Road Warrior" situation, where the Galactic and some of the fleet are a decoy, so that the rest can escape to...somewhere...

A couple of things:
I like how the song is "All Along the Watchtower", thats cool. Did anyone else notice them paying tribute to the old BSG on last nights episode? At the Cylon colony, the Raiders taking when the Raptor landed with Harrah was old school. In the preview it looks like Adama is giving his one way suicide mission pep talk on the flight deck of the Galatica, so they haven't ditched it by then, so the use it as a decoy may be correct. I'm looking forward to some more battle scenes though.... Bill |

i suspect that starbuck and Baltar are the children of the boxed (7? Daniel) and that the piano player was in fact their father

I'm hoping the next two episodes are well-written and do justice to this series...
- Failure of the cylon goop - interesting. Makes me wonder if the "dying leader" is maybe Galactica itself? - Hera/opera house/Cabal - there has to be more to this. To just end the show with Hera in the hands of the "human-unfriendly" cylons is a bit of a let-down. Should be something else here (I suspect there will be). - Anders/hybrid. Again an interesting development. Maybe the cylon goop with "neural interfaces" will start developing further, giving him more complete control of Galactica and maybe saving it (?) in the end... That can go a few directions. Some interesting, some less so. - Still an awful lot of unresolved stuff surrounding Starbuck. How will she "lead them all to their ends", and who exactly are "them"? What's the deal with her dying and coming back? The whole "all of this has happened before and will happen again" stuff... I hope they make something cool/interesting out of this. - I keep wanting to believe that "Earth" wasn't really earth at all, but I don't see how - the constellations, star patterns, visible continents from the end of last season - all pretty clearly made it "earth" (as in the real one that we're all standing on right now). - Religious war between the monotheists and polytheists? Some potential for interesting development here. - Cabal now has Hera, Boomer AND (presumably) the intel on the human fleet - including the knowledge that Galactica is crippled and cannot jump away. Since Boomer knows the location, what's stopping them from jumping in with everything they've got and wiping out the rebel cylons and the rest of the human fleet once and for all?

I'm betting Galactica jumps into close proximity to the colony and kamikaze's into it.

I think we will find out in the end that there is no difference between the "humans" and the "final five" cylons.
Certain humans have been resurrected: Starbuck obviously. I think we are going to find that some of the "people" at the cylon hub turn out to be "missing" humans. I think we will be reunited with certain "dead" characters in the end.
