I have to agree. I'm a native Texan who has lived in California for 17 years and have seen a fair share of "elite snobs" and "ass backwards hicks" in BOTH states!

Be careful painting any state with too broad of a brush - you'll make the same mistake as the folks who you're so harshly criticizing.

Your right about everywhere having plus and minus people. But even the rift between the northern and southern part of the state is very evident. Heck, I didn't realize the severity of the Giants/Dodgers and Rams/49ers rivalry until I visited the bay area in my mid-20's.

Also, there is a disproportionate amount of arrogant comments from Frisco commenters that just love to throw out an insult to start this whole thing over and over again. I very rarely see SoCal folks start throwing the barbs. As for the gay insults, your right, no excuse for that.

It does get a little old. Frisco is great but it ain't heaven.

I would agree that there are jerks everywhere, but the percentage of condescending pseudo intellectuals to decent, polite people is much higher in SF than it is Oklahoma City(or whatever small midwestern town you care to name.)

I will say it again. People jump on this because the lefties in the bay area have done similar things countless times. Making the firemen take the American flag off their fire trucks because it might offend some as an emblem of opression is another nice example, honestly that happened, could not make it up. Sorry Supe, but I bet had it been an AIDs commercial or another pro-gay protest, they would have let it happen, and the fact that they don't want military requiters non their school campus, many, if not most of the posters, who are in that area tend to be anti-military in their posting when military is part of the subject
