Guess you missed Savard biting his finger, Tyson style.

Hard to say for sure that Savard bit him, given the past history of the 'victim'. Savard says Carcillo stuck his fingers into his mouth and pulled, then claimed he had been 'bitten'. On the other hand Savard did bite someone a few years ago. I am inclined to believe Savard. Because Carcillo really is a top notch nozzle.

flatbutt 05-05-2010 09:22 AM

Greg, I saw the game but yeah missed that part. If the replay shows him getting bitten then yeah Savard is an ass, but that doesn't alter the fact that Carcillo is a dive queen.

Some rough calls in the Dtroit-SJ game last night. The disallowed goal was a killer.

Por_sha911 05-05-2010 12:18 PM

Carcillo reminds me of the kid that would pick fights with others and then cry that they got picked on or beat up. Being the dive-queen that he is, I discount his claim of being bitten.

The Wings/Sharks game had some bad calls but good calls won't fix bad hockey by the Wings. Its a shame cause they play a great game but then lose focus long enough to let in 1-2 goals. Howard is getting a real education on playoffs. If he survives, he'll be a force to be reckoned with next year.

It will be interesting to see what the Flyers come up with to try to change the momentum of the game. It may be simply lineup changes or it could be ramping up the hitting to try to break the Bruin's focus. Either way, it should be a good game. I doubt there will be any blowouts in this series.

Hard to imagine a goalie that let that third goal in seeing another game let alone another season. That was horrendous.

so far another nail biter in philly

Just saw the end of the Flyers-Bruins game. Good Lord, that was some dismal hockey, at least on the Flyers end. They had serious problems stringing 3 passes together. I understand they are banged up, and if I'm a Boston fan, I wouldn't get to impressed with sweeping them. The team to beat is San Jose. I guess the Pens won't see them until the finals.

Um, not so fast. The Pens will have to beat the Habs first and then the Bruins. I don't see the Pens overly dominating the Habs.
I'm not pulling out my broom yet but it will be close at hand on Friday. We really need Krejci to be healthy.

Give the kid a break. He's a rookie. Everyone has a bad night and he has stood tall so far.

Buckterrier 05-05-2010 07:05 PM

No whining here but what about the phantom tripping call against the Pens with about 3 or so minutes left? Then right after Latang taking a high stick right in the c***sucker with no call. I don't mind borderline calls being called or not being called but blatant non calls being called and blatant calls not being called is tough to take. No harm no foul I guess.

The Wings are old & tired I'm afraid to say. I would have liked to see Wings/Pens round 3 but the odds are seriously against it. Sharks look good. Boston/Philly is playing for 2nd place in the east. ;)

Por_sha911 05-05-2010 07:11 PM

The Wings look tired-agreed. Sharks in the finals-thats the way to bet.
Boston/Philly for second-I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself. With a 3-0 lead I think its not a matter of "if" but "when". If Boston takes it in 4 or 5 and the Pens go 6 or 7 then the Bruins will be a tough team to beat. All things being equal, the Pens and Boston will be a good matchup.

Buckterrier 05-05-2010 07:21 PM

No doubt the Bruins will win the series and possibly have a few days more rest. But Philly will punish them.
I won't go to the Garden being a Pens fan. Been there done that. Bruin fan is a toad in house.
Ask me how I know.

Besides, you feel bad walking out wearing a losers jersey :p

LOL, actually that night I did. Mario scored early but that was it. When he scored of course I stood up and cheered. I got a LOUD sit down ASS*OLE.
Nough for me :(

Por_sha911 05-05-2010 07:34 PM

I'm looking forward to someday wearing my Bruin jersey to a Preds game. Look at it this way: when the away team scores a goal you have a good chance of being on network TV since they don't have many choices of fans cheering. I figure if "my team" can take the beating down there on the ice in order to win, I can take a few insults up in the stands to cheer them on.

89911 05-05-2010 07:37 PM

If the Pens don't get to the final, it will be a loss of a season. What the Pens can do is play any style, any way you want. The Habs want to play the shut down, borefest defensive game in which they hope that the Pens will try to do something interesting and counter attack. Well, they got that game last night and were dealt a goose egg. I think the Pens know how to play this team and will close it out in 5, 6 tops. The Habs only chance is their goalie continues to stop everything, but the Pens are too skilled and it will fold. Usually it takes talent to beat talent, I don't see that happening.

flatbutt 05-06-2010 05:48 AM

I for one would luv to see Savard and Clark on the ice together. And the only thing better than watching Cindy cry is watching the Flyers wet the bed!!!

Rask is a kid to watch. I'm hoping he stays healthy, puts the rookie mistakes behind him and moves on. He may be another great one.

Well, another one bites the dust for this season. Broken wrist, out for the rest of the season. Maybe if I close my eyes and click my red shoe's heals together and say "there's no place like the TD Garden"... Awe, I'd probably just end up with Toto licking my face.
