Unfortunately, I understand. Boston is a rough crowd. Not too many towns boo their home team off the ice.
The way the B's have played these last 3 games, they don't deserve to keep going either. One last chance to make good. At least they had some good scoring chances this past game. The real question is: even if they win game 7, will they have anything left for the Habs and beyond?

dentist90 05-12-2010 09:38 PM

Don't be surprised if the Habs allow themselves to get 2 or 3 games behind in the next series... it's their strategy! ;)

Por_sha911 05-14-2010 07:12 PM

Well, Boston screwed up yet again. Philly wanted it more than they did. Maybe next year...

A dangerous strategy that will bring a falldown.

Sidney Crosby may be God, but Jaroslav Halak is Chuck Norris.

Philly and the Blackhawks in the Cup Finals. Philly is a WAY different team with WAY too many scoreres, better defense and on a HOT roll right now.

Blackhawks look fast, aggressive and hungry.

If the Flyers pull off the miraculous and win the Cup, I'll be in a car headed to Broad Street from Atlanta the next day!

GO FLYERS!!!

Another game like last night and I may agree with you...

I ashamed to admit that I had given up on the Flyers-figured it was another case of lots of talent, no results-same deal since 74 ( blew off highschool for that parade). But the Friday night game 7 was more or less unreal-go down 3 nothing away, come back-who does that schzit?

Then they do something that hasn't been done since WW1-shut the Habs down 6-0 in a game one.

To me, the entire difference has been coaching-I don't know how, but these guys suddenly believe.

And Briere is suddenly doing what we brought him here to do.

Philly/Hawks-a classic series- if only Tony and Bernie were still between the pipes.

We had season tix for the flyers from 1968 until 2003 and I used to know a lot of those old flyers well enough to skate with them and play pick up with them, same with the guys from the 1980’s.
I have met John Stevens many times and he is an excellent coach from the standpoint of X’s and O’s, but man he fires up no one. That’s my opinion so take it for what it’s worth.
I was hoping for a coaching change after last season and we finally got one. It took a long time for this team to adjust but they’re all on the same nasty page now. I don’t for a moment expect the habs to roll over and play dead.

JJ 911SC 05-17-2010 04:14 PM

You are correct...

Yes, we like to take it to the limit... 7 games series, ask Ovechkin and Crosby.

It would be fitting that we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Habs with another Stanley Cup... The 25th one, not a bad average (25%).

trader220 05-17-2010 04:33 PM

Don't bank on it. I believe the Flyers match up better vs the Habs than either of those other teams. The Caps were built to win in the regular season and the Pens were just missing something. Yea the Habs played fantastic and did what it took to win and deserve credit for their effort. I think beating the Flyers will be a totally different task. The Flyers play a different brand of hockey, with nasty D and not what I call a high flying offense but an opportunistic one. They can grind with the best of them and thats what its going to take to beat the Habs. Should be a good series.

Flyers in 6 or 7

Nor do I.

Peter got thru to Carcillo of all people. He hasn't taken a stupid penalty since he was convinced he was a valuable talent. I thought Holmgren had to go. Now I just think we needed Fred Shero's ghost-"Win tonight, and we walk together forever".

I'm a huge homer regardless, but what these guys have done has redeemed sports for me...its not about salary, or even talent, sometimes heart is enough, or at least almost.

dentist90 05-17-2010 05:57 PM

Two more losses to Philly and the Habs will have the Flyers just where they want them!! :D

Montreal in the playoffs are like a box of chocolates...

JJ 911SC 05-17-2010 06:04 PM

Ok... May the winner end up with the cup

Your almost right, 6 or 7... for the Habs.

Your Olfaction Sensor are correct...

How about a 2 digit (US/Cdn domination) related gift to be display on this thread?

:)

trader220 05-18-2010 06:17 AM

Done!

flatbutt 05-18-2010 07:28 AM

Let me be clear...I despise philadelphia sports, utterly. Their typical cheap and underhanded manner of play is beneath contempt.Gawd I hate the flyers.

BUT

They are playing some inspired hockey with surprisingly clean play. Well done.
