One of my friends in the Early 911S Registry has a bit of an "in" at All American Racing, so I am going to try my luck at getting an interview there. Along with some other places.

Any tips for cover letters?

A fresh faced engineer looking for employment? Lots of choices right now. One of the interesting problems is that there is often an inverse relationship between working on the most fun/coolest stuff and the size of the paycheck. There are exceptions.

Take a look at Space X Technologies. They love bright young employees that have not yet been ruined by working for the government. They are absolutely going to Mars and they are hiring energetic people by the container-ship load and paying pretty well. Porsche friendly also. :)

I have a friend who works there. Sounds like lots of overtime pay there. Another friend worked at Porsche Motorsport and said that they don't pay well because you should feel honored to work for them.

My main interest is cars, so I'd like to start there first and go down the list.

Back in the Middle Ages, I started trying to land a job (very) early in my last semester of school. Chose the offer to go with a month or two prior to graduation. You seem to be getting a late start on this, Max.

Yeah. :( Time flies.

All this engineer talk.

This is just an ad for Coke, but pretty neat. Max, this is a project that would be fun.

Evening Y'all
Okay so if engineers are not normal people
and normal people are not engineers
and I am not an engineer
then I am normal.
That logic is totally F'd up

Flieger 06-03-2013 03:00 PM

You can be an honorary engineer.

You seem normal to me, Rick. But then, I'm an engineer.

Oh hell no, there are already enough people that think I am weird. :)
