Well, the 944 goes to a new home tomorrow. Since I got Lucy I had to follow the rules I set for hubs. If you want another you have to get rid of one. So in order for me to get another unadulterated 944 I had to let the money pit go and put the motor up for sale.

On the bright side, Lucy got her new filter and plugs and she's purring like a kitten. Her new lights arrive tomorrow.

consider it progress!

Janet I called a friend at the MB dealer about your radio and you are just a55 out

Porsche-poor 06-17-2013 04:01 PM

i thought so but thanks for checking! It's the sh*++iest of sh*++y head units.... It's going to have to go. I'd like to find an upgraded OEM unit of that body style.

They are programmed to the body modules and will not work in another car. The phone, alarm, MB's version of onstar all run through it. Aftermarket is your best bet.

Usually those things are just bad solder (as per consumer electronics). If I was closer I'd fix it for you. If you want to resurrect it, get hubby to take it to work and give some techo a carton of beer to have a look at it.

Geez what a pain. Perhaps ill just get the bluetooth adapter installed, put in some nice speakers all the way around and call it a day.

Outback Porsche 06-17-2013 04:21 PM

If you're going aftermarket, go 'in dash' pc ;)

Porsche-poor 06-17-2013 04:24 PM

Scares me to think about the RDX and the radio/nav system in it. If it were to die $$$$ I'm sure.

I need to find a radio for the boxster that has the rear channel in it. I have the deck box but not the radio to push it.

Porsche-poor 06-17-2013 04:41 PM

I don't even usr the radio in the 911.

The engine noise soothes the soul.................

Rick V 06-17-2013 04:46 PM

ditto. Worst part is I have an Eclipse radio in mine

Outback Porsche 06-17-2013 04:48 PM

I recently got a BLAUPUNKT! 420 to put in the '44.

I like that word BLAUPUNKT!, you have to yell it out with a German accent. :D

Porsche-poor 06-17-2013 04:49 PM

great week planned.

Work M-F. Friday will be a zombie day. We have a Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company concert on Thursday night.

Rick V 06-17-2013 04:55 PM

As soon as I get some geek to remove the lock feature from the Blupunkt that came out of Lanna, it is going back in and That radio is going into Peggy and I'll shoot the sony that is in there now

Outback Porsche 06-17-2013 05:02 PM

There's a sony 5hit box in the '44 atm. It's gunna get smashed with a sledge hammer.

Marilyn has her original cassette radio, I like the look of it, but it needs an overhaul, the volume is very screechy when you are adjusting the thing, the crunching and screeching almost deafens you, but eventually you get a setting that is okay, and just leave it there. I am sure that Jeff could fix it!!

I have to look to see if it has a rear input, but I don't think it has.

These guys charge a very small fee to supply your code

Cheap Car Radio Codes
