Just went outside to get my mail. Not too cold yet, but it smells like snow.

Like it when it rains while I am asleep at night.

Unless it's that kind of rain where the thunder and lightning flash goes off so close you wake up standing in bed and have to change the bedding and shower before going back to sleep. Not so much fun as it sounds.

i woke up one morning, in KC, MO, after a freezing rain left half an inch or more of ice. i literally could not get inside my car. so annoying. then, i realized that driving would be incredibly stupid. i could have ice skated on the roads. the whole city was shut down for a day or two.

I remember one day at work when the ice storm came through. I had to chisel the door handle and door seam to get the door open. I did not want to sleep at work so I made the 8 mile drive home. It took two hours at a crawl. I had no chance to get up my driveway as it was. I had a heck of a time walking up the sidewalk and grass and I finally got into my house. I had to put on ice spikes on my shoes to walk. I managed to get some sand and salt spread on my driveway. It was a challenge but I finally got the Elky in the garage. It was a challenge to get the Mercedes 320 my wife was driving back then in the garage. That thing had horrible traction in slick conditions.

That was 8 or 9 years ago.

I don't ever want to do it again.

Alarick and I ran into these two tonight...

Imagine the odds of that in this big town!

I think we all had a great time tonight. Dinner out and then friendly banter at Alarick's house with his lovely wife and baby Kai.

It was a great time Dave! We need to plan a west coast get together if rick ever gets moved out!

Definitely fun talking with you guys, we felt bad when we left and realized how late it is. Poor alarick and ms alarick aren't going to get much sleep tonight either.

That'll work.

It looks like we're in for more weather, Rick. I'm ready to leave for points west...now!

Morning...

Just woke up and someone bleached everything outside while I was asleep.
Looks cold too. iPhone says it is 10°F.

Glad I stocked up on groceries yesterday. Maybe some home-made beef stew or chili is in order.

Well Stevo has just been out to buy supplies, milk for work tomorrow, and things to cook dinner with, having lamb shanks slow roasted with tomatoes and 'erbs. Yummo.

Last nights Eagles concert was wonderful, epic, so glad I went, Steve and David loved it too, but I was the only one jiggling and dancing in my seat. They sang all of the oldies, so glad there is nothing new! Not much voice left today after singing along with almost every song.

Lovely day out, but after the late night last night and the drive home from DC, today is just a very relaxing day.

Rick did you get to do some Skeet Shooting?

And Steve has stocked up on the deicing crap for the driveway, not looking forward to the weather forecast for tomorrow, jeepers, I thought Spring was just about here, and w might get some unsettled rainy weather but 6-10 inches of the white stuff, I was not expecting.

Sidney, maybe we should go there before heading home and offer to take the kids while they take a nap. We did bring the mini van.

Just look at it this way: you got to see LA like few others! What a treat!

Next time we'll do fun outdoors stuff.
