well the next step after posing with the car would be to have his wife run a tap up Glen to determine his height......but that might get him in trouble.

Yea, it is rare for her to come out to see me when I am working out there.

Mrs. Carrera will on occasion come out and ask how much longer I will be out there. Once when something heavy and loud fell she came out to see if I was squished under the car. Once she heard me say I was OK, she went back in.

She cares at least.

I encourage tweeze and the boys to come to the garage. What fun are cool toys if you can't share them with the people you love? I just make sure the boys stay way back or go inside if I'm doing something dangerous.

My garage is very small and between Lanna and four toolboxes and the welder there really isn't much room for people to be poking around in there. Beth will come in when I am down there for a long time, but she usually doesn't stay long, her choice.

My wife has heard me say it a lot. The reason I own 1980s cars it I don't HAVE to work on them, I get to.

The Elky intake manifold was more than I really wanted to do AGAIN but it got done. I can't imagine owing a new car and having a professional work on it for me. Someday when I can't do it anymore, but not for a while. I can spend hours tinkering on a small job. I had to replace the windshield washer pump on the Elky last weekend. It was a easy job and I have done it several times.

Hey Rick, where in the heck is the high power headlight washer for a Carrera? The windshield washer pump is next to the battery. The other pump is hidden behind the bumper. Can I just drop the washer tank to get to the headlight washer pump? Do I have to remove the bumper?

The current pump works, but it leaks like crazy. I guess a hose is split or a plastic connection is broken. I have the replacement pump but I can't find how to replace it. The Bentley manual does not even mention it.

Snot face!

Alright, we've had our week of winter. It was a good joke but I'm tired of it already. We can have summer back now please.

Ok, here are the specs.

Gratuitous picture because it makes me smile.

From the garage floor to the center of the jack point hole it is right at 40.5 inches. That is when I am using the shortest of the lift pads for the lift. The lift comes with two sets of pads and a set of extension tubes. If you had a taller vehicle like a pickup the taller pads would be more useful.

As you can see this would add 7.5 inches to the lift if I had some need to go higher. I can't get the car much higher without smashing the roof into the garage door opener motor.

This is the short pad I was using. It is sitting on the ledge under the torsion tube in the rear. You can see I will never win a concours, my suspension and inside the fenders are dirty. That happens when I drive it in the real world with rain. I try to avoid rain but on any long road trip, rain is possible and likely. After 151,000 miles there is dirt on my suspension. The bolts on the suspension have marks from the wrenches used to take the suspension apart and replace all the bushings.

At parade you will see cars like mine with suspension that is pristine and perfect looking. The inside of the fenders are as clean as the outside. I can appreciate the work involved to clean it but I really think it should be driven.
