It was actually on the GA side. They can do 'safety checkpoints' if they get a judge to sign off and advertise it in the local paper a week ahead of time. They can require license and insurance.

In SC, they can do DUI checks with the same notice and judge approval, but they aren't allowed much leeway.....they can ask you to prove you have a license, but can't demand you surrender it....they also can't force you to roll your window down..... Slap your license up against the window, give em a 1 finger salute and roll out.

They were doing 'safety searches' of the vehicles that failed to prove insurance coverage. Talked to one of the cops for a few minutes on my way back through, he said they'd found a ton of 'contraband' and impounded about a dozen vehicles.

I'm not a dick to the cops and when I roll through a check point I show them my paperwork and such but there is no ****** way they get to search my stuff. I have also never been asked to submit to a search

I'm generally not a dick, but the local guys have gone DUI check crazy and when I hit 2-3 on my way home from the cigar bar where I had a single beer, I start getting irritable.

Golly old cars are almost as much fun as new computers.

Yesterday in the rain my El Camino windshield wipers just stopped. No movement, no washers, nothing.

The voltage is going into the wiper motor, but nothing happens. I bought a wiper motor years ago when I thought I had a problem. Today is the time to put it in.

Of course to even see the wiper motor I have to remove the inner fender liner. To do that means remove the washer bottle and several other items. Of course remove the wheel which means put it on the lift. What a pain.

I have the new motor in place but not hooked up. Tomorrow is time for the smoke test.

Morning all,

Our kids sleep pretty good. It's the frikkin' dog that doesn't understand weekends.

Oh well, I did catch the rerun of the Australian F1 race this morning.

Having the in-laws over for some grillin' later.

Enjoy the Sunday!

There has got to be a reason that thing eats bearings. Something has to be askew

Gonna be sore tomorrow...

Rode bikes and played Frisbee with the kids this afternoon.

Apparently, I haven't used some muscles in a while.

Goodtimes.

Now if you can still ride a frisbee you will be doing good.

Mrs Saucy hates when I chew my nails, rightfully so, its a gross habit.

Did she overeact by throwing a Nalgene bottle at my face from across the room? Left cheek bullseye...

Stijn!!

I am victorus.

The new wiper motor is working.

My computer boots on one monitor.

The wiper motor was just a typical pain R&R.

The computer was a BIOS setting buried a few layers deep. Instead of auto mode for the onboard video card I have to dig deep and put it in PCIE Mode.

Ta da!
