The little drive up the highway this arvo in the 944 was fun, although I did discover the car needs a wheel balance. Quite a bad vibration from 90-100kph.

oooh, I've been watching wheeler dealers play with a Maserati GT3200 and have just discovered we're into lap 16 of the F1. Missed the start

Max speed is 'Fill yer boots', but is only on a small section north of town for about 200kms.

Other than this small section, the major highway from the southern border to Darwin is topped at 130kph. The rest of the roads in the Territory are maxed at 110kph.

I took the old girl up to 200, and she felt like she had more in her as she was only doing about 5300rpm.

I'm pretty happy with 130 too, although the tojo gets real thirsty over 120.

When we first came to the Territory, no roads outside towns had speed limits, then the fun police got elected in 2001. Only this year, a newly elected state government decided to 'trial' a no limit section of the main highway.

It looks like the lack of speed limit has attracted JOSS. The Vanguard may be coming to Alice for testing (and possibly more).

Nope. VA is a police state. Yesterday, I saw three VA troopers and their victims alongside the road in less than 10 minutes. Typical weekend **** around here.

When I was in my late 20's I was spending a lot of weekends in Dallas driving back of a evening. Always got drowsy on the drive back to OKC. Tried Sugar, Caffine, cold air, etc, and even stopping for a nap nothing really worked.

The problem was I had to be at work the next morning. If I stopped for a nap, I would sleep right thru my alarm and wake up as the sun was coming up. If I didn't over sleep, just 20 minutes or so into the continued drive home would find myself drowsy again.

One trip I had tried candy, coffee, cold air, etc. and nothing was working. On a whim I got a package of beef jerky. Was going to just snack on it and take a nap. But found it really woke me up. Like magic I felt recharged and continued on without the nap. Stayed awake and alert the rest of the way home.

I don't know if it's because it is chewy, or the salt in it or the combination, but it sure works. Has kept me out of the ditches several times since.

Yeah, Public $afety.

Reminds me of a public service announcement about speeding. Highway patrol officer says 20% of the fatal accident involve speeding, and 80% of the drivers are speeding, so slow down.

Sounded to me like they need to go after that 20% of drivers that aren't speeding but are causing 80% of the fatal accidents!!

I have my default for search engine set to Google, everything is set to Google, but when I type in a search and hit the button it goes to bloody Yahoo, wtf. Yahoo sucks its all bloody adds for pages and pages. I just can't find where it is hiding in my settings or anything, I have deleted all history, all cookies, run Trojan software stuff, Scanned for overnight with Titanium, Adaware, Spybot, you name it, nothing gets rid of this bloody thing. Even the Midget is stumped.

No spoilers please, I am finished on the treadmill for this morning, and have been catching up with the F1, Just imagine if Ricciardo had started from 5th, sigh, sometimes the rules suck. I understand that they have such strict rules for a reason, but I would have thought that the cars would have to go through inspecition before they are out on the track pre qualifying, and illegal things would be caught then, not after qualifying.

My rant for today, but then I am biased

Great result for the Williams Mercedes Team, love Massa, he is such a gentleman, and a great result for Bottas as well.

I don't like Hamilton, can you tell, but congratulations to him. Bad luck for Rosberg, I think that he was robbed. Congratulations to Daniel Ricciardo for getting third in the 2014 Championship Race.

Great F1 Race in Abu Dhabi.
