I have a case of MRE meals for earthquake backup.

And backup is a pun. They are awful and a single meal generated a huge amount of litter. It's staggering.

Hey, if the stools aren't working in the house you might as well keep it inside.

GH85Carrera 02-05-2016 01:20 PM

I was under the impression the real MREs were not available to civilians and they were rated is OK for just 3 years. Are the real deal MREs available to non military?

I don't want any, just curious.

Morning all

Beans are coming along nicely. First time I've ever done them from raw beans and I'm now guessing it's not gunna be the last time either.

HHI944 02-05-2016 02:55 PM

Yeah, the MREs you can buy are the exact same. They might have different print on the outside, but it's the same ****ty food
They 'expire' in 3 years, but in reality, as log as the vacuum isn't broken, they're good for a very very long time.

There's a phucin Harley in my garage now.

In Thunderdome they had a whole pig based production facility that took care of both the gas and the food requirements. In the new movie the were using water to control the people so didn't show any other stuff. But if you needed a fresh boost of energy and crazy, just sniff that silver paint.

Mom made pots of beans all the time. Never the canned stuff. And you are required to make corn bread too aren't you. I don't really care much for beans now. Must have reached some sort of lifetime bean saturation level.

Outback Porsche 02-05-2016 03:12 PM

I wasn't planning on corn bread this time, I've got some fresh cobs of corn to throw on the barbie. Ribs are in the smoker already.

Oh no, the Exchange move just got messed up. We are going to have company email problems for as long as it takes to move 500 users and over 1TB of emails from the current oniline account back to our on-premisis server, then to the new on-line account. The are trying to use BOTH online accounts at the same time so our sales people can use CRM. It is going to cause major problems. it makes so much sense to keep it as simple as possible. Move everyone back to the on-premisis server, kill the current on-line account. Only then setup the other online server and move those using CRM first. By my estimation we will have had everyone moved in the time it will take to just setup everything for using both at the same time, And without any of the headache. Man our myoptic IT director needs to wake up.

Congrats on the new acquisition! Hopefully your weather will let you use it a lot right away. We're probably getting a bit more snow next week.

Jeff, have fun with the magical fruit. I'll wager you're sleeping on the couch tonight!

So Cliff, I need to be prepared for earthquakes now? When I lived in the Midwest, it was blizzards or tornadoes, when I lived in FL it was hurricanes and/or tornadoes, in the DC area it's blizzards again, and they slipped in an earthquake just to mess with us. No chance I'll ever live in OZ, where every critter can kill you, including being downwind of Jeff after a helping of beans!

RKDinOKC 02-05-2016 03:16 PM

The first thing we had with a fresh pot of beans was beans and corn bread. Only after the corn bread was gone get they get served as a side for other stuff.

Porsche-poor 02-05-2016 03:17 PM

you need hazard pay

RKDinOKC 02-05-2016 03:24 PM

Yeah, congrats on the bike. I'm not allowed for my own safety sake.

RKDinOKC 02-05-2016 03:31 PM

Met a guy that used embezzlement as startup funding for his business. Took $1M and turned it into $!0M with enough cash to pay the money back plus fines and keep the business going. Turned himself in after 2 years. Spent 2 years in minimum security where he continued to run the business. Said he had it all planned, thought it was a good deal for a non-securded loan and a startup with no other investors.

Pic from the CL ad. I've already changed the seat. I couldn't feel my are after 25 miles on the one pictured.
Other than that and a few minor cosmetic things I want to change, it's a great looking bike.

porsche4life 02-05-2016 03:57 PM

I've been reading good things about hisense tvs. In the US they carry a 4 yr warranty and have a killer picture. Can get 55" 4K for $650!!!

Outback Porsche 02-05-2016 04:13 PM

That brand is over here too. Don't know much about them other than they are at the lower end of the price range. 4yr warranty eh? Don't know if anyone offers more than 12months over here. Usually if you want more than that you have to purchase an extended warranty with a third party.
