Slow day here too. Not sure Pink Floyd's Time is the best to listen to since it isn't quite nap time yet.

Too lazy to change it. It is on Shine On You Crazy Diamond now. The long version I think. I should put on some Brian Seltzer, Metallica, Cream, ZZ Top...

I might pop some ZZ Top Viva Las Vegas on quick so I don't fall asleep before I get to the car.

ZZ Top was my secret to getting faster autocross laps. Though I never remember actually hearing any part of the song from when I start until after the lap is finished.

Guy I know is selling a 928 race car. It is street legal and was in the Speedvision GT championships owned and raced by Mark Anderson. Has full roll cage and carbon fiber body. Comes with various wheels/tires and wings and suspension for different track setups. He wants more room in his 8 car garage since he doesn't have the health to track it any more. Only asking $13K.

WOW ^^^^^^ That looks like a hell of alot of fun to run flat out around a road circuit, however, maintaining, and keeping it updated would eat you alive financially.....not to mention the dedicated tow rigm the enclosed trailer, and all the spares necessary to run well.

Yep, any track vehicle is going to take a lot of care and feeding. Pretty cheap buy-in for a street legal track car in perfect shape to start with though.
Thought about it for autocross because it does have an automatic transmission due to my handicap of no longer being able to heel and toe. But it ain't got no A/C, don't have room in my garage, and don't think I would be happy with an auto when there is PDK. This is what it looked like in the Speedvision GT series...

Good morning all.
If I had the place to store one and the want to buy a track whore, it would not be a 928. I would get something like a Mata or Subaru WRX. Something cheap to run and easy to fix. Those days are long gone. Now I just drive my comfortable street car to the track and go have my fun and can't care less about fast times. I just want to get around the track with maximum smiles and drive it home. No more tire changes and go fast stuff. If I had a magic new source of big bucks I would get an Aerial Atom or some sort of fun toy like that. I suspect getting in and out of them is a challenge. And I know the AC and comfort settings are non-existent.

The few times I've done DE's and High Speed Touring, I enjoyed Autocross much more. May be different if I were PCA or POC racing, so much more expensive. Talking to the guy that ran the Skip Barber school, he didn't understand why people wasted money on tracking street cars, or doing any of the DE type stuff or even club racing when is was much cheaper to get some thing like a Formula Vee. Guess that's also why people get into cart racing.

Mornin(ish) all. We have guests coming we need to take for dinner tomorrow night. We are going to a German/French cuisine place. Should be...interesting.
No Pink Floyd today, I am already ready for a nap. Suggestions?

Hi Stijn'ers. Time really seems to fly by. I guess I must be keeping busy enough. I hope to get out to a cars & coffee this weekend. Any excuse to break out the ol' garage queen.

Now that you are retired I wonder how you find time to post here. Most people I know life gets busy when they retire.

That's true. I have a long honey-do list and a pretty long list of my own. I've only driven the 964 a few times and been sailing one time since we retired on April 1st. Too many other things to do. Once I finish this cup of coffee, it's back to work for me.
