The WEEK END!! Yea

Good Moring.

Slept in this morning instead of washing and vacuuming out the Cayenne while it was cool like I had planned.

Its got Larini exhaust on it now, but we aren't a dealer for them... So that ****s got to go. Probably going with a Capristo system. Still sounds pretty badass!

Hope he don't do like I did. My last 94 Turbo was REALY fast. Then started upgrading the upgrades cause it was supposed to be faster but it wasn't. Yeah it made more peak HP on the dyno, but was just that, peak. Made slower lap times. Shoulda never let them talk me out of the K27 turbo that had been lightened, balanced, and flow ported.

For exhaust hope they find the sweet spot like on my 90 928 GT. The exhaust on it was Just Right. Wasn't real growly, and somehow had a melodious tone to it. Going up through the gears listening to the exhaust would make the hairs stand up on your neck. Would trade that for power any day. The GTS sounds great, but it just doesn't make that melodious tone like the 90 GT did.

Morning all

We haven't had a chance to go grocery shopping since getting back home. The kitchen is a bit 'old mother hubbardish', to the point we need to go out for breaky this morning. Oh bugger!

Don't you just "throw some shrimp on the bar-b", Jeff?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Family drama at it's finest:

Last week my niece who has cut all of us out of her life sent a message explaining her side of the feud with her mother, my oldest sister. Seeing it as a chance to bring them together, I told her that it was nice to hear from her and so on but that what bothered me is that she has not spoken to her only Grandma, my Mom. She responded with an excuse of not having time, not wanting her mother to get hew new number, etc. I suggested she use a different phone or star67 the call. She assured me and the others on the message that she would call. I spoke with my Mom today and she didn't get the call.

Sad when the people that have been there her entire life for support can be just shut out like they are strangers. She's unfriended me on FB now. Oh, my heavens, what will I do?

My Mom was absolutely crushed and literally cried at the thought of not being part of this girl's life.

Don't mean to bring anyone down on a Saturday night, just venting a bit. My wife is probably tired of hearing me bi@!_ to her about it. She is staying out of it but still disappointed as she was pretty close with the niece.

It is strange when someone just quits communicating with family. It sucks. I have friends that have had to deal with that.

We attended the PCA breakfast this morning. It is nice to go to an event and not have the only air cooled car.

I got the yard mowed this afternoon. It sure makes a shower a wonderful thing.

Maybe this will make you at least feel normal if not better...

I am youngest of 6. Mom had 2 girls and then a boy with her first husband. He was killed in a car/train accident 2 weeks before son was born. Father was widower with a boy a year older than Mom's oldest girl. They got married and had a son, my only full brother. When I was born 13 years after full brother, the oldest brother was in the air force and both sisters were in college.

Every one of my siblings either themselves won't talk to someone or have a family member that won't talk to them.

Oldest sister disowned Mom when she got married right out of college. Never reconciled. I've never met or talked to her.
Oldest brother's kids won't talk to him or each other.
Other sister has an adopted son that can't be trusted or he will steal you blind.
Brother on my Mom's side's middle boy disowned his whole family won't let his family talk to his mom, dad, or siblings families.
Full brother had kids from 2 ex wives that wouldn't talk to him, and two boys from another that would but never did.

I don't call or talk to my brothers and sisters very much. It's not that we aren't talking, they are all just so much older we don't have a lot in common. I'm the age of their oldest kids and don't really like them treating me like one of their kids. Which they do.

My aunts and uncles on both mom's and dad's sides and their families are in various states of messed up with somebody not talking to somebody as well.

Jeff-my lame attempt at humor. It's a line from "Dumb and Dumber".

Richard-I was up early to let the dog out and read the unedited version of your post before going back to sleep.

Yeah, that is some pretty f-ed up stuff there but with that many different personalities, you are bound to have friction.

I appreciate you sharing the story, though.

Families can be challenging. My wife only keeps in touch with one of her three siblings. My parents were the black sheep of their families, but I'm breaking that mold by still keeping up with my brothers. I'm going to keep a great relationship with our son and his wife. No matter what!

Good morning guys.

We are going to search for Dory today. In Dynamic Disney 3D. Not regular 3D but dynamic Disney. Not to sure what is different. We have not been to a movie in quite a while.

Nah Wayne, I'm just having a lend of ya (hence the green font). I remember hearing about the campaign put on by tourism Oz back in the 80s, after the crocodile Dundee movie where they had Paul Hogan inviting you mob back to Oz and 'we'll throw a shrimp on the barbie' for youz.

It made us all laugh our tits off. WTF is a shrimp on the barbie? It's not a bloody shrimp, the yummy little bugger's called a prawn, ya nong!

Pelican is awesome! Where else can you poke fun at each other from across the globe?

Yeah, decided not to bore the manly readers here with the long sorted soap opera like details.

When people say they need guns to use as protection for their families, think they really mean protection FROM their families.

Also thought Throw another shrimp on the Barbie was some sort of reference to having more women than men in OZ, Barbie being another term for woman like Shelah, and shrimp refering to the "little man in the boat."

In HS was picking up a girl for a date. Had to meet not only her parents, but her parents were throwning a party and had to wait around to met all her parents friends. Helped mix drinks and learned what a twist of lemon or lime meant. Anyway, once all the adults had arrived they told us it was time for us to leave on our date. And to not plan on coming back early and to stay gone if there were still cars there. Then someone made the comment that they had no idea what us young folks were going to do staying out so late and started making references to a joke about two men in a canoe.

It's cool but once I started reading I couldn't stop. I didn't want to get up with the pooch but apparently it was MY turn.

My wife got a call this morning that 2 VPs from her company are flying in to Detroit this afternoon from Mexico. Rather than taking a taxi for the 80 mile trip they asked if she could pick them up. Wonderful.

I filled up the van, cleaned the windshield and checked the tire pressures. She's all set now. With gas prices here around 2.06 we will actually make money after she is reimbursed for the miles.

I made BBQ pulled pork for lunch along with sloppy joes made with beef instead of just burger. It smells great, I hope it tastes as good.
