if the boss cut all the forms you would have more time to wash his car.

I got another catalog in the mail addressed to my dad. After he died, I just had any of his mail sent to me. It is a catalog from Orvis, nice men's clothes. The cover photo is a nice looking leather jacket. I got me curious enough to take a look. It is a nice shearling lined leather calf skin coat, made in USA. Only $2,999.

My boss will have to give me a big raise for that.

They have some nice jackets for a lot less. I do kinda need a new jacket, but not a 3 grand one.

And the food budget!

Maybe when we get all the projects we have in the works approved and solid contracts signed and down payments received. I ain't gonna hold my breath.

Good plan!

Actually today was nice. It was 60 degrees and sunny when I was on my errand run. Those errands all were on hold from earlier in the week when it was stupid cold. I figured non were time sensitive to that day or even this week. The tag is OK until the end of the month, the calendar I have went to the end of the month, the battery was 9 years old, another week was not gonna be an issue. We are not going to starve without the little bit of fruit I bough at the grocery store. I figured out doing it in 60 degree weather was a better idea than single digit weather.

Anyone else have AT&T or Uverse for their internet?

3/4 of the IT Team at the company I work for has Uverse at home. They switched to an ATT bundleincluding mobile phones when the company had people take ownership of their company phones and got a stipend for usage. None of them were very happy with the internet speeds. Interesting of all the company's computer and network people and I was the only one to figure out it's att's default DNS slowing everything down. None of them believed me until one of them tried changing his DNS servers. Had to tell him how and he works our help desk.

Called recently retired VP of IT because knew he switched to an att bundle before he retired and was not happy with the internet. Got him sped up. He is much happier. He started working for the company as a machinist on night shift when I did over 35 years ago. Found out some very interesting things about why he retired and 2 other IT managers left in the last two years.

The restaurant is a small family owned place. They closed today for “personal” reasons. I guess life is what happens while we are making other plans.
We formed plan B which was go to a place with a big parking lot and room for us. Braum’s. There is one within 1/2 a mile of our house but driving 35 miles to eat with friends was worth it. Then we all loaded up and went to a great little museum a mile away that is the collection of stuff from local guys that served in the us military. One of our new board members is a retired Army Col. and a ranger. He speaks Arabic and has retired three times. The Army calls him up for a mission with his skill set. He had donated some pieces that are just perfect for the museum.

Just remembered something from when was much younger. My Dad was rushed off to the hospital by ER about the same time of the late evening as I was. They called it a heart attack, but said that his blood sugar had gotten really high then dropped quickly and that what caused it. Wonder if it was the same thing as happened to me only they called it a heart attack back then and not a TIA stroke.

Good morning all.

As expected the boss made me wash his El Camino and his wife's Macan. I got even by drinking some of his good beer, the Flat Tire beer he keeps out in the garage fridge.

When I delivered that project last wek I gave him my last portable hard drive. It was nothing special, just handy to have. So I went to Amazon and looked for more external USB 3.0 hard drives. I fould a 500 GB drive for just over $40 so I opend that product description. They also has a 750 GB drive for four bucks more. So I ended up ordering two of the 750s. I place the order, and the only option for shipping was free prime delivery, on Sunday. WTF. If I was desperate and really needed it fine, but that was the only shipping option. So yesterday the postal carrier dropped it in the middle of the front porch. Right in the middle, not even trying to get it close to the door and partially hidden, just out in the open. No big deal, I got it and am copying some projects I did that need to be on the RAID we have at my partner's house. I will copy some other stuff to it and let him keep that drive.

Morning all. Finally got around to get putting Christmas away this weekend. Usually its gone by the end of New Years but not with the crazy kid stuff this year. With the oldest off to college I may have to re-think the tree storage. He usually helps getting it back up on the shelf.

Car will not get fixed till late February, not happy about that but its a shop I trust and they are busy.

Get it fixed right. Always a better option than get it fast. At least for body work!

that is the plan. I used to take the cars to where ever my brother was working. He had been in the auto body business but has now retired.

Better to have it done right. Unless it is a Yugo or something, then it probably doesn't make a different. Might even make it better.

We got the oil changed and then washed the white car Saturday. It is blue again. I made Em drive up but she really didn't want to try to fit it in the car wash. We stopped for deep fried cheese curds at Culvers on the way home for her birthday and because I feel bad she goes under the knife Wednesday. At least she will be able to breath and hopefully not stay sick from September to June.

While we were waiting on the free oil change we walked around the lot. I asked her if she could have any car on the lot, which would she take. She didn't want a Jeep or Pickup (or any off road vehicle). She wanted a car that was quick. She said the new Challengers are too pudgy but she really liked the Hellcat Charger. She said it looked sleeker than the Challenger and should be quick enough. Why do kids have expensive tastes? Jacob wants a Yellow Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. They had one of those too. $55k.
