I'm betting that after a nice quite ride in the woods some undies needed changing.

Doc said surgery went good. Gave me eye drop pain killers. Who woulda thunk eye drops would knock me the heck out?

I know from experience off roading can be rougher than you expect. Glad my 4x4's didn't have any air bags, not even in the steering wheel.

By popular demand carried Jog bras in the glove box. Kinda funny to pull over right after leaving pavement and ask female passenger(s) to pick a nice tight fit from the glove box. After wide eyed looks of disbelief told them they would thank me later.

A girl friend at the time after her first off road experience complained and said she wished she had worn a jog bra. Told if she left one in the glove box she would be ready for off roading any time. She brought 3 or 4 to stuff in the glove box in case any of her friends went off roading with us. More than once pulled over and all the girls in the 4x4 put on jog bras. Made me like off roading even more.

With the glove box stuffed full of bras it gave a whole different meaning to the term Glove Box.

Tomorrow is the local PCA region’s charity car show. It has evolved and changed a lot over the years. The biggest issue is still the same, we don’t have a real go getter organized leader.

I have been in the local club for 40 years. I have done more than my fair share. Heck, I have been the treasurer for almost 13 years.

Stijn!!

The bosses wife made me take her breakfast today, and then we washed her car.

Now we are cleaning the aquarium. Lotsa fun.

She did “let” me wash the El Camino.

Since my extraterrestrical brother found out what I've been offered for my car...Besides asking me how much he gets, has been sending me emails and texts about how badly he needs money. It's like he is scottish or something. Only times I ever heard from him before was to find out why my other brother doesn't answer his emails and texts. Other brother says those are all asking for money.

Good Morning!

Refuse to let my general attitude be disrupted by the fact today is the first day of a work week.

Not for me, yesterday was the the first day of the work week. The greedy money grubbing boss made me do lots of chores around the house, and then drive to the airport and go on a flight. I did actually get to fly in our 182 instead of the leased 172. We were flying the State Fair of Oklahoma. They want it at a peak time to do a parking count and as a general record of the event.

The challenge for the fair is that to get the images captured we fly a back and forth pattern over the fair. And we took off from an airport on the west side of OKC. So we had to fly way south to avoid one airport approach (Wiley Post) and then go further north than we want to because ATC had several airliners coming into Will Rogers. The two airports named after two men that died in the same airplane crash.

Anyway the traffic was constant, the talk on the radio was constant, but we managed to go east and west up to the extended center line of Will Rogers many times. ATC was cool, and we got it all flown. It looks great. I processed it last night. Now I am tweaking it a little to make it one of the best images of the fair ever. The company I worked at that was started by Wil Moore, has been shooting the fair since the late 1950s. I have worked on the images for the last 14 years.

Wouldn't it be convenient if they still had that airport at N 63rd and I-35?

It was never much of an airport. What would be cool is if Edmond still had the airport that is now covered with apartment, condos, and shopping centers. It was on the land that Jason's Deli and the apartments south of there are on now.

The old business I worked at had THE absolute "state of the art" film camera. It cost the company $490,000, weighed just under 500 lbs with the fancy gyro mount that was 80 grand more. It was the third to the last one ever made, and would cost us 20 grand to have it cleaned and calibrated every three years. We had a photogrammetric scanner that cost 80 grand, just to scan the 9x9 inch frame of film. That camer required a dedicated 206 with a 20 inch hole cut in the floor to carry it.

Out digital camera that my partner and I wrote checks to buy just beat the pants off it for image quality for the State Fair flight. This may be the best looking fair imagery ever. It is sharper and lots better color and detail and overall quality. And the image will be done withing 24 hours of the flight. With film it was 4 days at best.

I am loving this camera. Of course we have been using it for several years. Film is dead. RIP.

I REALLY NEED to mow the yard. It has been two weeks because of all the rain we received. Not the humidity is stupid high and the dew this morning was heavy. It was 96% humidity early this morning. It is way down to "just" 80% now and getting hotter. Normally we have a breeze of wind to help dry off the dew. Today is is dead calm. It will be silly hot before I can go mow the yard at this rate.

We had hot dry weather. Took two days to replace the master and rebuild the slave. Well, not two continuous days. The brake line fitting was froze to the slave. That was fun. Took two hours just to get the one fitting released. Took 15 minutes to rebuild the slave. Lots of black gunk in the master and I am guessing that is the issue.

Happy back to work day!

Last week checked into having someone mow my yard since I am so busy and I didn't want a neighbor turning me in. They want $95! So cheaped out an mowed it myself yesterday evening.

Phew, right now it is 92 degrees and 60% humidity and the heat index in 105 at my house according to my VantageVUE weather station. Whatever the real numbers, it is stinking hot and humid.

I just finished the mowing. My sweat glands are flushed and clean. No need to go to a sauna, I just worked in one. It will be about the same tomorrow for our flight. It is supposed to be in the HOT range for the next week, and likely about the end of the month winter will hit and we will skip fall.

I did drink one of the bosses beers after mowing. That sucker made me go mow in the heat, I deserve a beer on a work day to help cool off.

Back to work inside in the AC.

Hey guys, wake up.

This thread was on page two!

I texted Rick for a while last night. He is still high and dry at his house. All the flooding in the area has made it a pain to get around. The shop where he works is close to a river so he is a little worried about his tools. His house is higher elevation

It looks like another typical Oklahoma summer day, clear skies in the morning but by afternoon when I need to fly, the sun will cook up lots of clouds. On Friday the hurricane remains from Mexico arrives and causes lots more rain, and more humidity, and clouds in the afternoon, and more rain and more clouds in the afternoon. We need a few big cold fronts to move through and cool things off. Of course that will likely just bring ice storms or snow. It would be nice to have a clear blue sky to fly in for a change.

Good to hear Rick isn't under water. I wonder how Joe's house is. Hilton Head isn't it?

We are planning a trip out to DC next year for our daughters senior year. Might have to look up some Pelicans out that way.
