Women think the Alpacas are all cute, then they spit on them like llamas. Who knows what diseases are in Alpaca spit. The horror.

Likely similar to dog slobber or cat tongue, or human kisses. Best to not think about it. That is why we have an immune system.

I'm glad beepers are gone. I remember when they first came out and all the cool people had them, but I couldn't afford one.

I would prefer those temps to an office that is 90 degrees. Easy enough to dress warmer than normal. It still sucks, but just think of Thanksgiving day with a belly full of good foon and the warmth of family around you.

I have never understood the fascination of the apocalypse genre. 99% of the science fiction movies are "after the apocalypse" movies. That is one reason I have always likes Star Trek. They solved the problems of future society with technology, and have a bright future. Except for the Borg, or Klingons, or Romulans, but they are just an foe to conquer.
Appears that you got more faith in humankind that i do.
I think we are a flawed species and have to evolve significantly if we are to survive.
Don't matter tho, I'll be worm food by then.

I never had a beeper, never wanted one. One of my good friends used to host some web pages from his house in the 1980s. His computers were set up to alert him if there was an issue. He wanted to go on vacation with his wife and kids. He asked me to carry his pager and go to his house to restart a computer if there was a problem. That dang thing went off constantly for his regular job, even after he had told everyone he was out of town, and on vacation. He said to ignore them all, only the ones from his home mattered. I was real glad to get rid of that thing.

I waited to get a cell phone until AT&T ran a special for a phone for $25 per month, and a free phone. Then I resisted getting a smart phone, I saw no reason to text or spend money on a data plan. Then I took a sip of the Kool-Aid, I was hooked. Now it is my brains, and I can't imagine living without it.

You forgot your Mechanix glove David?

I use my smart phone for calls mostly. Sometimes I check the weather with it.

Mom thinks our youngest has poor eyesight for some reason. This weekend, sitting in the field I saw some turkeys across the valley and he asked what I was looking at. I told him what and where and he said he saw them. Sometimes kids say things and you never know, but then he told me a couple minutes later that the turkeys were moving. I guess he could see them. Google Earth says they were over 1000 yards so he must see OK. He was excited because he spotted a deer in the brush and told everyone, who didn't believe him until it ran out. He helped field dress it.

PS. I believed him.

Whooo Hooo.

I just got this email:

"You have been chosen among those for the United Nations end of year compensation. Resond within 48 hours for your prize."

Maybe my prize is a new GT2RS or a big stack of cash and gold! It has to be true, the UN would NEVER lie.

Actually this was trapped in my spam filter. It is a good thing I found it before the prizes are all claimed.

Your prize is probably just fewer digits in your bank balance should you claim it, but you should respond just to be safe. You never know.

Though, if it were true and it was UN end of year compensation, it probably would involve you bending over.

Yea, I figured the part about the end, was in reference to how they planed to treat me rear end, and I am certain I would not like it.

Two buddies were talking and one was telling the other about his recent sky-diving adventure:

He explained that when it was time to jump, he froze. He couldn't and wouldn't move.
The big mean tough ex-military jump instructor was yelling at him to jump! Jump! Go!

But he just froze.
Then the jump instructor said that if he didn't jump, he was going to bend him over and have sex with him! But not in those words.

There was a pause and the other guy asked, well did you jump?

his buddy said "yeah, a little at first ...."

Never got one of those garage door beepers. Did really like the watch that beeped me when I got a phone call before I could carry my phone in my pocket.

Used it basically so elderly Mom, and Bro with MS could call and get me if I was out and about and they had some sort of emergency. This was before the "I;ve fallen and can't get up" services. If it wasn't a big enough emergency for 911, but they still needed help.

When we moved to my current house, after our first 911 call, the local fire department gave use their number and told us to call for any sort of help that wasn't enough for a 911 call. Pretty nice of those guys.

Good Morning.

This is the third time I've taken this Office 365 training class to prep for more current certification, and the third time the instructor has gone thru the coursework too slow, had half the class to finish on the third and final day, and gotten sick, not finishing the class.

That instructor likely gets paid by the day. He can add one day and make more money.

We cheated once again and ordered a smoked turkey from a local BBQ place. They smoke em real good! All we have to do is go fetch it. Once we get home we de-bone it, and put the meat in a large pan. A smoked turkey tastes great, but it sure is not something anyone wants to use for the Norman Rockwell photo shoot. And since I am de-boning it, I HAVE to taste test a few pieces to make sure it is all OK. SO I get a little preview of Thanksgiving today.
