I have to be very careful when I start doing anything that might be considered maintenance on my vehicles or I become OCD cleaning.

The shop the rebuilt the 951 opened their shop on Saturdays. When they had the engine out, took a bucket, some rags, and cleaner and cleaned the engine bay.

Would have don't that with the 928. but that shop was only open 9-5 weekdays and had to work. Even though they had the engine out for over a year.

So, the daughter was invited to sing in honors choir and she said OK. Yesterday she was called to see if she could go in for an interview for an internship for an IT position at a local medical facility and they setup the interview for 2:00 today. Late last night we get an email that honors choir practice is today and over an hours drive away. She declined the honors choir invitation to make the interview.

How can they be so disorganized for this stuff? The concert is Saturday and they just decided when to have practice last night? Had they known ahead of time she could have scheduled the interview for another time. Oh well.

What are they doing scheduling honors practice during the day? Is it a reglar class or something.

They probably did it because the music dept want her to pursue music and not IT.

No, they would take them out of regular class time for practice. She is schooled online (public still) so she has flexibility in her classes to do things like go for a job interview in the afternoon.

Her band and choir are still through the local public school though. Run by airheads (the local school).

Phew, and golly gee whiz.

The new shocks are on. It reaffirmed why I hate to have anyone else work on my car. One of the tasks that is a chore, is the replacement of the a-arm bushings. It requires a HUGE spring compressor, and lots of effort. I was really busy when the task was due. I took it to a local good shop. They whipped it out in a day. To get the a-arms off, the shocks come off. So my perfectly torqued to spec fittings were removed. The shop monkey helper or someone there was more interested in making the book time, and they never did get the shocks really torqued down. And as a bonus, and likely part of the torque issue, they stripped one shock on the top, and one on the bottom.

I had to Dremel off the top of the strut on the passenger side. The bottom connections on the driver's side were all buggered up, and only one bolt would even come out. The other bolt on the driver's side broke the spring nut. I had to rig up some bent needle nose vice grips through the spring to hold it well enough to get it to back out. Both bolts looked like they were cross threaded. Arghhh.

I had to clean up, take my wife's car to NAPA, get replacement kinda sorta the same replacement. They were a little longer and required some bench grinder time. It is all back together and the top and bottom are torqued. The top bolt that hold the shock strut in place is a 17 mm nut, but the center of the strut has a fitting for a 5 mm allen wrench. So hold the strut with the allen and turn the nut a 1/4 turn at a time. It is lots of fun.

The top is torqued to 96 inch pounds, the bottom bolts are torqued to 240 inch pounds.

My 911 was under the car cover, on the battery maintainer. It was easier to take her car.

The old shocks were installed 14 years ago, and only had 146,000 miles on them.

Well, I had to cut the top off of one shock to get it out. And I did not even look up the warranty on a Bilstien. I don't remember who I bought them from way back when. I should go to the shop I used, but I have zero real proof that they caused the problem. I know they did only because they are one of the few places that ever get the keys to my Elky. And the "mechanic" that did the job is not likely still there. They seem to have a different crew every time I swing by, except the manager and the owner.

An absolutely fantastic and great, if not enthusiastic welcome to the rising of the sun in this part of the world making it the light of day preceding the time when we get to be like Jim!

i.e. Friday!

Sick!

Yuck, I was sick once, I did not like it. I don't do that anymore. It is completely against my belief systems.

I keep telling that to the germs that invaded but don't think they are listening.

Back long long ago in a galaxy far far away, I dated a hot chick. She she had a “cure” for germs. A shot of tequila chased by a beer every 15 mins or so. After a short time you don’t care about the germs, because you are unconscious. The next day really sucks, unless you start treatment right away. I never tried if for more than one evening, and decided germs might be better.

Yeah I think at that point the germs team up with the tequila and are out to kill you.

Think I am allergic.

Got up a few days ago with really watery itchy eyes and runny nose. Thought, oh great, caught a cold. Did some cold remedy...pseudofed, then mucinex and nothing, just kept getting worse. Did one benedryl and in just a few minutes, ahhhh releif. Actually for 3 days. Then it came back after lunch. Did a benedryl and it left. For a cold it was just way to severe then nothing for too long, then severe again.

Thought about anything I did different. Only one thing. Accidentally picked up some of those thin Oreo's that are mint instead of the regular kind. Had a couple a little before bed the night before the first eruption, then did not eat any again until dessert for lunch right before the second hay fever style eruption. So, have laid of the mint Oreos and have not had any issues since.

Have not had any mint in years and years that I can remember.

Glen's past datee sounds like what we called just one evening of relaxing.

We would choose someone's house, bowl the keys and put them on a high shelf. The each person got a shot glass and 375 ml of Crown Royal. We would set an alarm that went off every 15 minutes for pouring and taking a shot of crown. Amazingly enough we would get to where it was taking longer than the 15 mintues to pour and take a shot, But we never got to the point that anyone got sick or passed out involuntarily. Though everyone did end up crashing at the place the relaxation took place.

The bowl of keys on a high shelf protected us from anyone driving. If anyone actually remembered where their keys were, they were not physically capable of retrieving them. The idea was, if you could get your keys you were capable of driving. It helped everyone expecting to stay until the next morning anyway.
