If someone offered me 5 times what the county assessor says our house is worth I might think about it, but the thought of moving would likely dissuade me from doing the deal. Since no one is ever going to pay that I am likely to stay.
Maybe if they had a house in a great location with a 5 car garage that had 20 foot ceilings, and two 4 post lifts finished floors and walls and ceilings, with heated floor, full central heat and air, and a full bathroom and a house with lots of room and professionally landscaped to my wife's specifications and ranch area for her to have horses, donkeys, Llamas, dogs, and other critters, maybe. But that will happen after there is peace on Earth, goodwill toward all men and a balanced federal budget with no deficit and no taxes.

The stop sign turn at Hallett has a tire wall before the trees. In all the autocrosses and track days I have done I have never had brake fade issues. Maybe having only 200 HP and not pushing to the limit helps. My only goal is to have fun, and drive home with no issues. With no ABS, I don't push braking super hard.
That is one of my favorite turns. Coming over the hill, down towards that hard turn and getting the braking point just right and making the turn is a blast. In the 2020 911S we drove on track and the new Cayman it was a blast to just stand on the brakes and hear the PDK downshifting in milliseconds, and ready for a ton of HP after the corner was fast. I still prefer to be the actual driver, and have zero computer help and a slow 915 transmission to row the gears on with only 200 HP pushing me. There is no better engine sound than the flat 6 screaming behind me. I will admit to a slight prejudice in that fact. In the past the fast cars come up behind me and I can wave them to pass on the side I want, and I don't have to lift, just pedal to the metal and they scream past with over double the HP. It really is amazing how much faster the new cars are.

One million is 6 times what my house is worth. Seriously doubt anyone would pay that.

Yea, except for the property taxes.
There is a total dream house just down the road from me. It is a 160 acres, with a private road to the house that is 1/2 a mile long. The place looks like a really nice city park. There is a bridge to get over the creek that runs through and feeds the 10 acre pond. The guy used to have his own helipad, but he closed that. The pool behind the house has a waterfall and a full grotto with a bar behind the waterfall. They have had the house on the garden tour and the pond tour. It is like comparing the Playboy mansion to normal houses. Across the street is a 40 acre farm, with just an old farm house and the entire property is taxes as a farm, so very low taxes. The couple that lives there actually farm it some, but the have a koi supply business and sell koi and lots of plants. All of that is just over a mile from my house.

Yea, the big place has a bigger budget for the gardening crew than we could ever afford. It is an Hawaiian couple that have the farm. Really nice folks. We got several of the water plants in out koi pond from them.

My sister's in-laws have a farm like that sounds except they have catfish ponds. Had me walk out with him as he shook the buckets of fish food. The calfish ponds started boiling with catfish!
Was more impressed with the 3 humingbird feeders on their front porch. Minimum of 25 humingbirds at any given time. And none of them had a fear of humans! You could walk right up to them and they just kept buzzing the feeders.

Personally like autocross more than track. Track sessions wear me out, go too fast, and don't really have a way to time laps without it costing way more. Both for timing and insurance.
Autocrossing, it was really fun going from 2nd slowest to becoming the one to beat. Both learning to drive and setting up the car. It took years.

Yea, no timing at Hallett. I will make videos of my laps for fun. I guess I could figure my time that way. I honestly don’t care about the time. I am just having some fun curves to play on and no worries of oncoming traffic or tickets.
Our old autocross track at the Sheriffs training site was 11 out of 10 stars fantastic place to autocross. Our current site is a 3.5 out of 10. It is safe. But it is small, mostly steering related track and I have no power steering. With a small track it is a lot of 1st and second gear stuff, and downshifting a 915 transmission into 1st is not a good thing. So the autocross is still fun, but not nearly as much as before.

I just went to get my haircut. It keeps growing every day. At one red light I was first in line and a flat grey rattle can sprayed 4 door econobox generic vehicle pulled up next to me. I guess we were in a street race and I did not know it. If you look up the term "fart can exhaust" it could be the sound of his exhaust. Just annoying as heck. The speed limit is 40, and the cops may let 45 slide, but not more. I was at 40 or 42 as I crested the hill and he went past me fairly quick to make sure I was entertained with his awesome exhaust noise.
![]() His windows were tinted pretty dark, so I have no idea who was driving and I really can't possibly care less. My El Camino has real dual exhaust, and I had to get the muffler shop to go to a quieter muffler than their first try. I told them the last thing I wanted to was hear exhaust while cruising. It does have a nice idle burble, but I don't like loud exhaust. Not my style.

We have been having a week of very high humidity. All that Baja Oklahoma Gulf moisture, but no rain. Just oppressive humidity. That changed when the tropical storm from the gulf came up through Louisiana and into Arkansas and away. That moved the blockage and the cool air from the pleasant Canadians came in. The humidity has plummeted, even though the temps are still up. But suddenly 86 degrees is not bad at 37% humidity but sucks when the humidity is at 65%
We like Canadian air this time of year, but really dislike it in the winter time. Actually the low humidity air is mostly from Colorado.

Mornin all. Long weekend with graduation and yard work. No beer, no reason to add insult to injury.
Back to work today. I don't know why when people email and then get the automated out of office response they need to call my extension because they need help right now! Um, maybe call someone in IT that is there that day? On the subject of houses, I would trade even up for some wooded acreage. We had some rain, but SW of here got hit really hard. They were thinking 4" or so this afternoon.

I just love my garage, and will not move to an ordinary house until I can't drive anymore.
There are lots of acreages around here, but to get the affordable stuff it would be way on out in the sticks.

I like our garages, but I figured I can build a shop or something if I had the acreage.
