Have fun at the parties, Glen! I’m having a blast, too. Reconditioning the heater & blower assemblies from my 280Z. WhooHoo! Party time!

Whew, back from the zone party and the welcome party. The zone party was outside, but we had shade. The welcome party was outside in full sun. The few shady tables were full already. We just picked up our table and chairs and moved it to the shade even further from the food. It was brutal in full sun. The shade was reasonable. The waitress was not happy but we did not need to call the ambulance. We did not stay for the door prizes. We came back to the room and took a shower. I never win anything anyway. Why sweat it out in the heat. Tomorrow is the concours. Gonna see the cars in the morning.

Stijn!!
No.
No autocross for us. That just had a huge fireworks display right outside our room. It was launched from a barge in the cove very close to shore. We could hear the whoosh of the launch, and the sizzle of the fireworks and of course a loud BAM for the big ones. Being on the 8th floor we had prime seats. We just walked the few steps to our porch and sat in our chairs and the fireworks were just right in front of us. Nice show.

That's perfectly okay with me. Would not autocross the Cayenne. But there are those guys that track the Cayennes.
Would not autocross the Range Rover either, figured would have to change it's name to the Roll Over. Don't know what possessed me to autocross the X3. Think it was curiosity and the ownership distance of leasing combined with that M logo everywhere on it. Sure did make the brake pads smoke a lot. Was afraid was going to have to find a fire extinguisher.

It is a wild site to see a pepper wagon or a Macan hauling buns at the track. I have seen them with competitive times of a Boxster. Our Macan steers and turns much like my 911. Even with the modern computer gizmos it is a lot heavier of course, and there is just no need to try it at the limit.
Today is the Concours. It is rumored that the Mission E is here and going to be presented to the US at one of the banquets. Likely the Concours dinner tomorrow. Tonight we have a river boat cruise.

Don't understand these kids today.
Since I made a LOT of money mowing I've tried to help the neighbor kids, and my brother's grandkids out by paying them to mow my lawn. Tell them they can mow it every week, edge first, catch the first swath, then mulch the rest of the yard for $20. Can be done in 20 minutes or less, that's what it takes me. Or if they wait longer they need to catch it and I will pay them $40. But takes at least an hour if taller and they catch it. They always go at least 2 weeks between mowings, if not longer. They mow then edge, then go around with a blower. They spend at least 3 times longer. For me it was a lot easier and faster to mow a yard the same day every week. At mowing for half as much I made the same money.

I could not post pics earlier because so many geeks were sucking up the bandwidth of the cellular networks. When I got back to the hotel the WiFi has dropped out. Finally got back on WiFi to post. Even on the top floor the cell reception is good, but no decent bandwidth.

Good not Monday Morning.
Dang, it is summer. 90's here all week. Lake of the Ozarks does look like a great vacation spot! Bet there are lots a twisty roads around there too. Have been invited to go listen to a band Sunday during the hot part of the day. Forecast for Sunday is 97°. The venue is a Car Show at Motorcycle shop that is also a restaurant/bar. It is only 4 miles from my house. Friend in the band thinks I should bring the 928 for the car show. Think is going to be more of a Muscle car/Street rod crowd. Kinda like our company car show. They make a calendar of the employees US muscle cars from the car show. Found out the 928 actually won people's choice but they gave it to the US iron that got the next highest votes instead.

Right now it certainly sounds like a muscle car!
At that company car show there was a rev off. It was started by a couple of Bike owners. Then the GT40 jumped in, then a Shelby Super Snake, Nova street monster, Cobra, and my lowly Ferin 928. By Applause the 928 was the winner. There was a LOT of interest in the two stage intake along with the factory cold air intake tubes after that. Probably when it got the votes for People Choice, even though the organizers decided to give it to a US car. Mine was the only non-us car at the show. Actually I am the only Porsche owner in the company. Other employees are usually upset and accuse me of being overpaid. When I hear that I tell them now much the car actually cost (their pickup trucks usually cost more), AND that I am single with no kids to help support. Then they think it is cool.

You don't see a 928 very often. The other stuff is a little more common.
I took Emily to a car show once in the Cobra when she was little. A bunch of people were looking all over the interior and I asked if they had questions and the were all wondering how I got a booster seat in it. Oh well, even the mundane to you or me gets questions.
