I keep the garage door closed as a safety measure. But alas, no airbags on the garage door.

When was drivin the Range Rover I put painters tape on the floor across where I was supposed to stop. One day my brother came home with me and as he rounded the front of the rover he stopped dead, pointed at the blue painters tape, and asked what is was for. Told him to see for parking. He asked me how I could see it. Told him I can't. That year I got one of those lights you can mount on the garage wall that lights up green, yellow, then red as you get closer. Funny thing was I was pulled in perfectly. That parking light is still NIB.

The Cayenne has park assist lights in the car. Seems they aren't quite as accurate as my tape was. Think is has something to do with the IR sensors getting dirty as you are out and about driving.

Our house has the garage on the side of the house. The front of the house looks nice, and the garage is not the main focus of the house from the front like most houses. With the huge driveway, I just pull up to the fence, and back into my space. The three car garage is one big double door, and a single door. I use the single door since it has the workbench and the lift.

Main point of all that is I back into a one car wide space every time I park. I can just pull out and leave and not need to back up at all. If Mrs Carrera uses the Elky for some reason she just leaves it in front of the garage and "lets" me back it in. I just use the two outside rear view mirrors, and back in between the 2x12 garage door pillars. I visually line up with a handle on the workbench drawer to know I am far enough back.

If I am backing in with the pit uncovered and trying to get it over the lift I drop a tennis ball on a string as a guide to dead center. The tennis ball is tucked out of the way the rest of the time.

One of my friends mother has started his car, and backed into the still closed garage door twice. That is going to be a tough thing to do when the garage door is in front of the car and I pull forward to leave.

I pull in to ours. Before moving slots around I would back the Cobra in, but that one is easy with the visibility you have. The way everything is arranged I pull it in. Have to fit the bikes in and still be able to open the drivers door.

The neat feature is the cameras in 360 degrees. When moving at parking speeds or backup up, the ground around you is easy to see in 360 degrees. It is astonishing how it can show the ground from every direction and it looks so seamless. And of course it has sensors if you are getting close to an object. That is a cool thing.

I actually like the adaptive cruise control, comes in handy on long trips.
It does have some bugs in it tho, one time I had it set to around 75 and traffic backed up and the car slowed way down, maybe 30 mph.
As soon as i started to pass the semi that was in front of me, the car went full throttle and the torque steer (close to 300 hp) darn near put me in the weeds. Wasn't ready for it.
So now when I have the cruise control on and the car slows down, I shut the CC off and reset it after traffic lightens up.

I have the back up camera, it isn't 360 degrees but is wide angle and shows left and right.
I don't use it.
That's what mirrors are for, get off my lawn.

Hahaha! I’m planning on more modern madness for the Z. Retro-looking but thoroughly modern radio, headrest speakers (removed worthless rear cargo area speakers), and a transition to LED lighting. With the backdated 240Z bumpers, (280ZX) close-ratio 5-speed & 3.90 rear end, and 16” Panasport wheels, I’ll have quite a bas tard Z.

I've only got a 2 car garage, but it has a fridge for when friends come over (i don't drink no mo) and a half-bathroom.
That is, it has a utility sink

They remind me of EMPI style wheels or these panasports:




When I was a kid I remember seeing a cobra on the cover of a car magazine and was blown away.
It was yellow with white stripes, and had the supercharger and intake sticking out of the hood.
Never forgot that car and dreamed of building one just like it some day. Prolly never will.

Yea, those are cool wheels. When I replaced the 14 inch wheels on my Elky I found a set from a S-10 that look identical, but are 15s. Of course I had to have them painted, and new beauty rings, By the time I did all that I could have bough a nice set of Craigers. I wish I had, but I ain't going down that rabbit hole.

well OK.....i'm broadcasting courtesy of my welder/generator. Power has been off since early Tuesday morning thanks to an 8-10 inch dumping of heavy wet snow. Trees and power lines down all over town. Plow a little ...jump out and cut a tree...plow a little, cut some more. 15 hours later we had all the roads open. This winter is going to be one to remember ( so far).

Just got around to hauling the welder up to the house after work today. Power Co. said it may be a few more days before they get power to us.
Heat is no problem ( got wood) and it's not been cold (20's at night) so no blower needed on the wood furnace.

I need to put in a transfer switch. I've got 2- 110 volt and 1-220 volt outlets on the welder.
Right now we're running lights fridge and internet from extension cords.
Going to go down to the garage and see if i can find the 220 plug and hard wire it into my well pump. Would be nice to take a warm shower.

AHHHHHHH....a hot shower never felt so good. Totally worth the effort. Just have to unplug the fridge before i plug in the water pump. Not sure what the wattage is on the welder. It's and old Airco
AC/DC welder i got many moons ago. It might handle the fridge and water pump both but don't want to press my luck.
