One of the reason I only got into Autocross and not club racing. Not into paint swapping.

Jim, when you get that zcar all fixed up, you gonna road trip and visit us in it?
Brother's BIL brought by his grandson yesterday to see my 928. He was very interested, but would be very surprised if he could afford it. He also really liked my Cayenne too, think he is a Porsche enthusiast.

Good question, Richard. A lot depends on how willing my navigator/co-pilot is. She’s been known to do long road trips in old sports cars.

I only do autocross, and the track day "Drivers Education" and the rules are strict for passing. The car in front has to wave you by on the side they want you to pass. I told my last group I ran with that I was a 100% street car, and I was going to be slow, and I will let you by as soon as the curve is over if it is safe. With a street car on mud and snow rated tires I had no chance of being fast, but damn I had fun.
I had to make another quick round trip up to Tulsa and back in the 911 yesterday. As soon as I finish my coffee I will go clean it up. Another 67 degree morning out there. This weekend is gonna be busy. We have a group drive to Eischen's for some tasty fried chicken. They are cash only, no credit cards. The oldest bar in Oklahoma from before statehood. During the long period from statehood (November 16, 1907) until April 7, 1959 Oklahoma was technically a dry state, and booze, even beer was illegal. Only when the laws were enforced, and several judges, senators and government officials were arrested at bars did the laws change to allow local option of liquor. It was not until the 1980s that "liquor by the drink" became legal. Now I can buy good German beer at the gas station, and a lottery ticket. However I have never spent one cent on the lottery. I can go bet at the horse races, and gamble at the casinos. I have only been to the horse track twice, lost my $20 both times. Never been to the casinos. And the 24 hours of Le Mans starts on Saturday.

I got the 911 cleaned up. Phew.
It is almost funny home much a smartphone is a vital tool for a business. We have one government client that always pays their bill with a credit card. Dang it. It has been 9 months since our last CC charge, so I had to look for the Square App on my phone, and it was gone. Self deleted I guess. So I had to reinstall it, log in, and enter the CC number manually. Then I had a good old old fashioned paper check to deposit. I can in theory or practice print out a deposit slip, and put the check and deposit slip in a envelope and take it to the bank. Totally analog. I much prefer to just use my phone app from the bank, just seconds later, it is done. No printing, no driving in the car, just done. So two vital businesses transactions done with my phone. Ka-ching!

Technology is great, when it works right and if it’s secure.

You can only have one of those two options at any time.

Not always!
My bank uses an app that I suspect is quite secure, and the Square credit card app if secure as well. Both of them want the phone number to send a text message to and get I have to enter a code they text to me. And both send me an email that the app was recently used. So full two or three factor authentication. The bank's app will regularly ask me questions I filled out when I set up checking account at the bank. One question is about middle name of my father. His middle name was spelled differently than most, and she entered it wrong, (normal spelling) so I have to remember his middle name and then misspell it. And the transactions were done on an iPhone, tied to me. Of course, Experian, Apple, the IRS, the FBI, the CIA and lots of other big tech companies have been hacked so I am careful.

The dealership is doing the Cars and free coffee and donuts car show on Saturday morning. Then we gather up and all go off to Eischen's for fried chicken. We are going some back roads to get there. If we take the highway to city of Okarche, it is a straight road and pretty boring. So the group leaded has found a curve somewhere. Most of our roads are straight. Curves are hard to find. Wheat fields are pretty easy to find.

We have few straight roads here. The interstates are relatively straight bit the two lane highways have curves. The back roads have lots. When I got my first sporty car in the late 80s we had a challenge to see who could stay above the 45mph speed limit on some of the roads. We have to watch out for wildlife mostly here.
