took my car into the place I bought the tires the last tine. Not as dire as what the dealer said but probably not another winter on them. By november the car will be 14, not sure a new set of 4 ties might not be worth more than the car is worth.

My newest car is 35 years old and at 373,000 miles. I bet I have had 10 or more set of tires on it. Maybe 12. Back when I still had 14 inch tires a new set of tires for 250 bucks.

your newest car is still in better shape than the 2007 RDX with 18" tires

My wife decided there is not enough fun in just our yard, now we are adopting a large hunk of the neighborhood association's green belt. So yesterday evening we made yet another trip to Lowe's to buy 5 bags of mulch to spread around the area on the other side of our fence. It is under a large tree that throws a lot of shade in the summer on my driveway. Some of the association members just wanted it cut down like one of the other trees out there. I mentioned a thing called Arbor day, where people are urged to plant trees, and there is no national day to cut healthy trees down so grass will grow better.

Now I get to make the area under the tree look better under supervision of the master (gardener).

We will get ground cover plants that like shade planted. In a few months it will be all green and pretty.

Phew, well the slave driver "let" me run to Lowe's for 5 more bags of mulch, and 3 bags of river rock. So 10 bags of mulch down, 8 bags of river rock and we are still not done. The river rock is at the exit of our French drain. Most of the neighbors yards drain into our yard, and then out to the gutter. We had standing water in spots when we moved in, so as I put in the sprinkler system I added a French drain "while I was in there" to get rid of the standing water. 22 years later it still works great.

When our back yard neighbor waters too much, if flows across our yard, (free water for us) and right to the drain, and out to the street and into the storm drain. That area is washing out a bit after 22 years, so we put down the landscaping cloth and put the round rocks on top to make it look nice. It hopefully will disperse the flow and stop any more erosion.

So another 8 to 10 bags of mulch to put down and we will be done with that project.

We worked from 8:00 to 11:00 on it today. Golly it was fun.

That is enough for the day. Take break and see if the boss will let you have a beer or two.

My oldest vehicle has the least amount of miles. The 1985 XT600. The built in 1995 Cobra is next oldest with the next least amount of miles and it has 10,000.

yesterdays trip to the local tire shop was the right choice. Not as dire as the car dealer made it out to be which is what I thought. The RDX tires may not make it thru this winter but will be fine till fall. They only want a little over $700 for a set just like what is on the car.

Tires like lots of things are lots more expensive, but far better than the tires of old. I used to get a set of 14 inch tires for the Elky for $255, mounted, balanced and all taxes. They were tires made at the local Dayton tire plant here in Oklahoma City.

They would only last 15,000 miles before they were flat out scary in the rain. It was like a autocross special slick in the rain. Now I get 30,000 miles or so from the far superior 15 inch BFG tires.

The 911 with the 17s and Michelin Pilot Sports are a ton more expensive than the old 15s of old. But wow, they have so much more traction.

The 911 gets lousy tire mileage from all the time at autocrosses and track days. Brake pads seem to wear out pretty fast as well on the 911 for some weird reason. My smile muscles get a real workout as well.

I never knew is was so hard to give money away.

Finally today I meet with the Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue to give them their half of the watch sale proceeds. 20 bucks ain't bad.

They get $888.00. I went to the credit union I have my accounts at and got a money order. That cost me a buck that I just added to the cost of charity.

I can't seem to get the tree charity to call me back. I guess I will have to set up a fake email on hotmail and send them a email. I do not want to get put on the sucker list and have them sell my name to the other billion charities and start getting a flood of begging letters and wasting the resources of a charity. I make my regular donations to my favorite charities. That is all I can do.

Met the folks for the Sooner Golden rescue and gave away the $888.

Sunday was round tow of spreading the mulch. We ended up with 19 bags of Cyprus mulch getting spread out and that is done. Several neighbors out walking saw us working and stopped to cat, but not one came back to help.

My business partner flow a nice project yesterday 22 square miles of a city with a river in it. I get that started processing last night and it is churning on the project. It will be a solid 14 or to 16 hours to finish the mail part. I need a faster computer!

When I was making the list of parts out, I almost spent the extra money for a more cores for the CPU. That is the biggest bottleneck now. My CPU sits at 100% usage for most of the time. Only between steps does it drop down and write data and move to the next step. It is only using 70 Gig of RAM so not much above 25% of RAM. The M.2 hard drives are on the motherboard, and the fastest thing available.

I had to drag my laptop out to write this.

Morning all. Nice weekend here with just enough rain to water the lawn and plants. Finally got around to working on the Lego Porsche the wife got me for my birthday. Not quite half way done.

We are finally having some normal weather temps. I am back in my beloved shorts and t-shirt.

It is a bit breezy today, 30 to 40 MPH winds.
