I guess they are teaching labs how to fly like a helicopter now?

One of my co-workers says just for fun he goes out to his car in the morning and makes vrooom noises then walks in the house to work. I think he has been home alone to much.

https://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/canadian-soldier-charged-with-feeding-cannabis-cupcakes-to-artillery-unit-during-live-fire-exercise-1.5436410
A Canadian army gunner is facing more than a dozen charges after she allegedly served cannabis-laced cupcakes to her unsuspecting artillery unit during a live-fire exercise. Court documents allege a sudden onset of paranoia, fatigue and confusion among the troops who ate the cupcakes, unaware of their psychoactive contents.

Get off my lawn!

Golly what fun I had yesterday. For whatever reason my wife drug me along to a small family reunion with two of her cousins at her mom's house. I was stuck in the middle of a 4 women gab fest talking about their childhood, and growing up on the farm, and my wife's occasional visit to the farm.
They had a good time. The F1 race was great results. The Mercedes juggernaut stumbled a bit and for the first time since 2018 they are not in the lead of either the driver's championship or manufacturers championship.

Oklahoma City has YET to get to 85 degrees at all this year. We have not yet turned on the AC. It is 66 degrees this morning. My Bermuda grass hates this cool weather, and I keep waiting for the temps to warm up to fertilize the yard. I may have to sneak a mowing between the rain showers this afternoon if I can.
Just weird weather this year. From 15 below temps to this. We very rarely get below zero, and 15 below is way below. Now a spring that refuses to warm up.

Our A/C is on since it has been humid and in the 80s lately. I am off this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon since one of our vendors had an issue over the weekend. Ended up driving to Chicago's lower side to grab a new server and come back to work and put it in yesterday. Could have had it delivered had the company called me instead of our administrator. I didn't know they found one until the reception at my boss' wedding. I had someone in Chicago that could have grabbed it Saturday for us and with enough notice I could have had the courier pick it up at 8:00 Sunday morning and meet me in Rockford and we would have been back up my noon instead of 7:30.
Now I get to go home and do ll the weekend stuff I was supposed to get done this last weekend since Saturday morning was shot because of the issue and the wedding was in the afternoon and I was on the road all day Sunday. At least I get paid mileage.

Golly I love tech support from some companies.
The local newspaper was once the local powerhouse. My how times have changed. The family that owned it saw the coming future, and sold the paper many years ago. It has been sold several times since. The analog newspaper is now printed in Tulsa, 100 miles away, and trucked to the local office for distribution. That got so bad that we only received one paper per week sometimes. So we went digital. It has been working fine, but mostly because it was an open link. Anyone could read the paper that had the link. Today, that changed. Now we have to log in. No sweat, we are subscribers. Only it will not us log in with the username and password we had set up. I called Tech support, and the sent an email to the email they have on file. After 15 minutes, no email. I even went to the service provider's site and checked, nothing. Not even in the spam box. So the tech support is going to elevate the issue to a higher level, and they will contact us in the next 24 to 48 hours. So no reading the paper today. And get this, they are going to send an email to let us know how to log in. That will be really helpful if it never arrives. The real kicker is they have promotionals going now. We can subscribe for a dollar, for 6 months if we are new customers. We have subscribed for 30+ years, so they want to charge us $135 per year. Mrs Carrera called them and discussed that, and we got a major discount, but still not the rate a new customer gets. I don't get that at all. One would think a 30+ year customer that pays electronically automatically would get the best rate of all as a thank you. Nope, screw the long term client, go for new subscriptions. The paper is now part of the USA today network.

The only time I ever had a newspaper delivered is when I did web development at a newspaper and they expected all employees to subscribe.

End Geezer voice. The digital version is OK, but we are low in packing material and now an analog version is kept and horded as a great resource. My wife shreds some of them to add to her compost as a balance for all the grass clippings. One of her friends still gets the analog paper version and brings over the old ones for us.

We still get plenty of the free ad papers every week. I have a 26 gallon bin that is full of papers and my wife still has enough for the garden.
Mowed for 2.5 hours yesterday afternoon and I am still not finished. Will finish tonight, put the clippings in the compost pile and mow again Thursday.

Having fun now boss.
I was sent outside by the boss to mow the grass. It has been raining a lot almost everyday, and the ground was pretty wet, but not sopping. Of course as soon as I started mowing it started sprinkling. 0.01 inch of ran was not exactly a deluge, but I almost melted! That task is done. Now I am gonna goof off for a while after I shower.

Another 68 degree morning, and the humidity is 99%. I think we have SWS or Seattle Weather Syndrome. We are supposed to hit 85 today, but we were supposed to hit mid 80s yesterday amd never broke out of the 70s.
I may turn on the AC today for the first time this year. Not so much for the temperature control, but to get rid of some humidity in the house. I have one piece of furniture that is a decorative cover for my rather ugly safe. It was custom built 28 years ago and he must have used wood that was not fully dried. In the dead of winter when the heater is running the humidity gets really low in the house and the cover on that furniture is warped almost 1/2 inch. Right now it is nice and flat. My Bermuda grass hates this cool weather. The electric company really hates the cool weather as our heater or AC system has not come on in over a month. They are not selling the normal amounts of electricity I am sure. I see the eastern parts of the country are roasting. I prefer the cooler weather personally.
