My day's kind of uneventful, so far. Just getting going in the office, catching up on my emails before I launch into meetings. My wife just left for Alaska. She'll be there a couple of days for work. I'm not a big fan of either of us doing business travel.
This shipping company seemed to have a lot of recommendations here on Pelican. Intercity Lines, Inc.

Thanks Jim for the transport line I shall look them up and get them to quote.
I spend my day working hard, typing, and washing and ironing, and hiking, and shopping, and talking to friends, doooiin coffee and lunches, that's why I am getting fatter lol, who would have thought that unemployment would be fattening..

We mapped a local golf course and they want a 30 x 60 print of the golf course. That part is real easy. The pain is they want their logo on it. The only version of the logo they can find is what is on the dang web page! It is 3 inches across at 72 DPI! It will look horrible printed unless I rebuild the entire logo and it is complex. I can tell some professional built the logo and I know it was provided as a nice vector image but they can't find it. They will bring over a score card that has the logo on it for me to scan. That will look just as bad if not worse. Grumble grumble.

I left Miss Daisy's 356 workshop manual back in Oz, sitting in Miss Daisy, so I wouldn't lose it, didn't think I could afford another 356 here!!!
But i can have Nick scan me anything you might need.

One company I worked for had some really good graphics done up for their business logo, and they had it formatted in every conceivable format, so we could use it on everything, and it was in the highest level of the file structure for the company so it couldn't get lost over time, it was bloody expensive to get done in the first place.

Thanks! I have a manual and a lot of books...I need to drop the engine in order to repair a few very minor rust spots in the engine well. I've done plenty of drops on 911'2 and VW's, I was looking for some local help with my first 356 drop: Those little things that can be a pain. I am even willing to host a Fall skeet shoot for the local Stijn contingent! I hope your husband's transition into PMA-299 is going well. Captain Glass and I go way back. Great guy. All the best.

He is going well, the only thing that pisses him off are the hours to talk back to Oz, they seem to think back in Oz that they should be available here in MD when they are working in Oz, and that makes for very long hours a couple of times a week, he gets to work at 6am so he can talk to Oz in their late afternoon, and they have phone meetings a couple of times a week of an evening our time start time in the morning in Oz.
But we have been for a few weekends around the area, Shenandoah and DC for a look see. Going to Florida for Xmas and will have the eldest over from Uni and his gf. Looking forward to seeing him. Haven't dropped Miss Daisy's engine that is hopefully being done by nick while we are away, if he gets time, he owes me about 6K so there is a list of stuff to do if he isn't busy, and that's on the list. But if your having a drop it day, I'm in, when we dropped the 2.4l engine out of the 911 it was definitely easier than putting in the upgraded 3.0l, that was a tight fit. But we did find the 911 workshop manual and Waynes guides invaluable on the process and didn't forget anything, and reversed it for the refit. Sure there must be something similar for the 356's. Sure think the other boys would be in for a workshop day... a hands experience is always great fun and we will get to pick on you!

So we ended up in Hunting Quarter in Callaway, nice area, so quiet of a night time, not a sound except for the crickets and bugs, no traffic sounds at all.
Son is going to Leonardtown High, and is enjoying the more relaxed style of teaching, he was previously at an all boys private school in Canberra, so having girls at the school doesn't hurt him either, after all he is 14!! The curriculum is a long way behind Oz in the level of what is being taught in Math, Science etc, so even though he has jumped a year, he isn't too pushed academically except for AP Government and Politics, but really I don't care about the subject, but it is a learning (ha ha) experience to have to study something that he isn't interested in really.

As a former corporate graphic artist and art director I must say, most companies DO NOT value their art assets and even discourage taking proper care by being unwilling to invest in something as simple as an art director.

Richard, I think that the problem is in the wording "ART Director" most guys in big companies see the word art and turn off, "Technical Director" now that would get some kudos, from the head shed.
