This is the only thread on Pelican I visit. Then again, I am getting more and more like a hermit.

Had someone run over the pile of stuff I had set out of my car tp do a DE at Hallett with a rig like that. Every wheel on the right side of the truck and trailer went over the pile. They own a parts and repair business and replaced everything that was broken, smashed, or scratched. Also made it up to me by giving me quite a few free parts for my car. Said he had rented the rig from a friend to bring his two cars from GA to OK and didn't know how to drive it very well.

Called to complain to Cox yesterday, too much noise on my signal to do the on-demand thing. The movies stutter and pixelate. They sent a guy out, he said the problem was upstream. Cable, Internet, and phone have been winking off and on since.

Good morning folks.

I can think of six times I have done over 900 miles in one day. Going east, west and northeast. I will likely stop west of Flagstaff, AZ the first night this year. I like the cool weather of the high country. Death Valley the next day will be toasty!

Drove to Atlanta and back, 900+ miles a LOT when my brother with MS lived there.

Did it in my 914 the first weekend of ownership. Had my nephew with me on the trip. Because you could open the rear trunk from outside the car I let him put his stuff there while my stuff was in the front trunk. This was well before the Boxster. Really got a LOT of attention when I had the front trunk open gassing up and he had the rear open rummaging thru his stuff and there was no evidence of a motor at either end.

There is what looks like a nice white 75 914 2.0 for sale here in OKC for under $2500. Friend said I needed to tell Glen about it in case he wanted to pick it up for nostalgias sake. It is white and all.

There is also a very nice all black 73 2.0 one owner, 63K miles, asking $13,900

I really enjoyed my red 75 2.0...

Crusing at 80 with the T-top off in about 15 minutes your scalp would hurt from your hair beating your head to death.
One trip to ATL in Aug it was over 115°F as I crossed AR. With the A/C on it's warmest setting and the fan on low it would still get so cold I had to roll the window down to warm up. I only got rid of it because to take both a girl and my golden retriever somewhere at the same time the dog had to sit on the floor facing the passenger face to face. And I could only afford one car at that time.

A $2500 914 must be a total POS. My garage is full anyway.

Jim, if you can get Glen to check it out, I know where you could store it for a bit until you could go get it...

David Tichenor called and had the guy email more pictures, says it looks in really good shape and just had the tranny rebuilt with new 1st gear syncros. Said the guy just didn't have time for two cars to work on and wanted to find it a good home.

I would be interested if it had the ultra rare 914 option of A/C.

I have no idea if that white one is the same one that showed up at a recent autocross. The one from the autocross had a paint job that looked like someone spent 30 minutes to tape it off and used rattle cans. All the rubber and trim was painted. The rust worm had been busy on that one as well.
