They've found the Black Knight!

Seems it was only a flesh wound.

Yawn, morning all. Good to be home. I slept like the dead.

Very un eventful trip, once we got over the border into the territory, the ears went back and the foot went down. The last 300ks was all over in a couple of hours (had one extra fuel stop though).

Ya know you're home when the water from the windscreen squeegee has evaporated before it can be wiped away.

Back to the grind today. I wonder if I'll get my industrial relations dispute resolved by management today, or a dispute gets lodged with the government? Bloody gumment!

Evening Y'all,
Well it has been an interesting couple of days and after $700 worth of vet bills and lots of TLC and work it looks like my kitty is on the mend. He still has a long way to go but I am not feeling so dire.

.........
I was at the cigar bar and there was this ~60yo dude there with this chick in her late 30s to early 40s. ....he was trying really hard.....but mostly playing the "I'm rich" card.....she was playing along because he was buying the wine...

Then the bartender asked me to grab a fresh keg for him from the storage cooler (I get the first beer off the keg for free when I bring him a fresh keg!)
So, I strut through the bar with the keg thrown on my shoulder like it's nothing and this chick completely forgets about the guy she was there with!
Yup, got her #, meeting up friday.....she's not as cute as gym girl, but she's quite easy on the eyes.

if you are carrying kegs from the storage cooler in exchange for ONE pull, you are selling yourself short. just saying.

It takes like 3 minutes and it's only ~150lbs....two at once still wouldn't be a warmup

Hehe, love the dolls guys

but it goes more like this;

(company name) has not provided a satisfactory outcome to the request to resolve this dispute below, and we believe (company name) has now failed to comply with the Fair Work Act 2009 by withholding entitlements.

On behalf of all union members, please proceed with the lodgment of a dispute with Fair Work Australia. Please consider undertaking civil action on behalf of union members, seeking an injunction to remedy this breach, and an injunction to have the definition of Eligible Dependent/Partner in section 6 of (company name) Collective Agreement 2010-2013 removed from being used in future interpretations of the document (unless this definition can be removed as part of the lodgment to Fair Work Australia).

Supporting documents for the lodgment of the dispute are attached.

We're all a bit pi55ed off.

I have no idea what any of that means. I don't do lawyer speak.

Just after college I customized a database for the Postal Worker's Union to keep track of grievances. It was interesting working with both the Postal Worker's Union and the US Postal Service representatives to make sure each got what they wanted. They each had all kinds of requirements to try make sure neither got an advantage and the process could not be cheated.

One of the executives at my day job found out about the database work and told me he was disappointed I would do anything to help a union. I asked him how he knew whether it helped the union or the Postal Service as both were very happy with the database. In the end I felt I helped the workers themselves as it sped up the resolution of grievances significantly.

Don't know if I could bring myself to spend that much on a kitty if I knew beforehand it was going to cost that much. Had a difficult time spending $400 on my dog, and if I knew of the lower quality of life it was going to bring her, I probably would have had her put down instead.

Kitty Toilet Training Update:

Cat is using the tray both on and off the toilet. Mom keeps putting it back on the floor. Can't really move to the next step of putting in the tray insert with a hole in the middle until Mom starts putting the tray back on the toilet.

That was part of a email I wrote today, instructing my union to have a lawyer battle with my employer over withholding agreed employee entitlements.

The first step is to lodge a dispute with the governing body that certifies employment contracts (in this case the employment contract is called a Certified Agreement and is fundamentally an enterprise agreement negotiated every three years between all employees and the employer at a specific place of work. An employer may have many such agreements in place across it's business, but each agreement is workplace specific and only pertains to employees at that site) and see if it can be sorted.

But if they still want to fight and are found to be noncompliant with the legislation (the Act), then the section of the Act that they are noncompliant with is also a civil remedy provision (fines are issued).

Good morning folks.

I have worked for different family owned businesses all my life. Just 4 different places but there is never ever the slightest doubt on who to talk to if there is a problem. I just go straight to the boss-owner. Heck I have never really had to deal with a manager. The boss's wife at my second job was trying to tell me how to do my job one day and she was FOS and just plain wrong about her way to do a task. I went right to the boss and asked him the direct question, who is in charge? He stated clearly he was the boss and to come to him if there is a problem. He then said do it the right way and "ignore my wife" and I took that to heart. I did not acknowledge existence her unless I had a direct need to discuss something with her. And that was usually to tell her we were almost out of paper towels or coffee.

Never needed to get any lawyers involved. Never had to schedule a meeting with a manager or write letters. That is the advantage of a family business, the disadvantages are many and varied.

I'm only a recent union member. Up until about 5 years ago, I never had a need for unions. That was the last time my employer decided to play silly buggers. The funny thing is that it's the same issue all over again - just new managers being stupid.
