Pretty close to what Richard said. The fiber is ours going from building to building on campus. When my guy couldn't find the worker the director at the building where it happened called the company and turns out the dude dropped a ladder on the switch. That explains why the fiber connection was snapped clean off. Fiber is great until you have to patch it.

So dropping a ladder on a switch is not his fault according to the electrician?

I guess the ladder is at fault in his mind. At least he went and bought the patch cable until a proper one arrives. Good thing it didn't land further down the rack and mess up the NAS.

Nope, the brand new 505 HP 470 lb-feet LS7. It is a bargain for just $16.5K and it has a factory warranty.

Sent me the pic as soon as they got it out of the car. Going on an engine stand and taking it down to bare block. Heads and everything else basically only have 2000 Miles on em. Refreshed everything when I did the valve job. Sure wish I would have done whatever it took to get the rings done when had the engine out to do the valve job.

It's got hotter cams from when I did the valve job. The only thing I have for WYIT is a set of tuned headers.

If I was going to spend the money for a nice high powered LS for it, I would just send it to the guys that are putting on the custom twin turbos, 700rwhp.

Think I will keep it so I can still get $80K for it instead of half that.

The 427 is a bit less punch but it's almost $5k cheaper. Besides, how cool would a 928 look with these?

When I did the 911 engine it started as just one leaking head. I though long and hard about doing just a top end. In the end I read a lot over in the engine rebuilding forum to convince myself to go all the way. I was real glad I did. Two of the rods had some "hot spots" and the oil pump shaft bearings were worn. They may well have run fine for several thousand miles but they could have given up at a bad and expensive way. It is comforting to know I have a bullet proof engine now.

Here is an older 928 with an LS3..

And anotherone with a Toyota V12

Both done by the same guys. Very nicely done. Both cars were taken down to the unibody and rebuilt back up all new. Both cars were also salvage title wrecked cars.

There is also a guy here in OKC that does GM into Porsche swaps, he does both 928s and 944s. Wasn't real impressed when I saw his gutted out car.

When I did the engine swap on the El Camino after the original engine was all wore out after just 300,000 miles I toyed with lots of different crate engine possibilities. All it took was money and changing the daily driver into a gas sucking fire breather.

The $1,700 complete brand new crate engine I went with has plenty of power for every single thing I need it for. And I did not need a all new rear end, suspension and brakes to fit a 600 HP monster engine.

I suspect Richard will spend more on labor alone than my entire brand new 350 engine cost me. It will be nice to have that 928 back on the road. Probably just in time for the ice and s***.
