Morning all. nice short weekend but then they all are. Had the 911 out with the wife yesterday and just to prove I control the weather with it, it rained on us. Had to pull over and put the top back on.

It's morning here now...well, sparrow fart really.
Tried that sleeping thing but the back is stinging again. Just popped some pain pills that are supposed to let me not care about the pain and will allow me to sleep.

Thanks, the pills have the desired effect. Should have taken them earlier.
Nighty night

I'm Okay, Don't go thru any daily affirmation or anything like that.
Just had to comment on them commenting that nobody was here when I usually have this thread open either late into the night, or very early in the morning. Maybe I need to post more of my off the wall observations in the middle of the night,

We returned from Sears. yay
Spent 5 frikkin' hours walking around our mall waiting for it to get done. "Sir, the PS ball joint is a little loose and we can't align it unless we replace it". Go ahead. "Sir, when he was replacing the ball joint he noticed that the control arm bushing had some wear" Yeah, no shtye Sherlock! It's got 145,00 miles on it. Yeah go ahead and replace those while you have it apart. $358.00 later we get to leave. they found a small nail in the wife's tire and patched it.

Dropped the Turbo off at the shop this morning. Lots of stuff for them to address, imaging it's going to be pretty pricey.
Replace O2 sensor (already have part in car). Replace rear hatch shocks (already have part in car). Fix soft brake pedal. Passenger rear window does not operate. Add headlight switch that adds auto on/off feature. Check park assist sensors (tells me I'm about to run into something in front of me while backing up). Shifter won't go into Manual Mode. Drivers seat cant set memory. And on the way driving it to the shop the Parking Brake light came on. Releasing it had no effect, kicked the pedal and the light went off. Buying a used car is such fun.

I know I shouldn't be complaining. It was much less than what you or David has spent in recent times.
Times like this is when I seriously consider leasing a new vehicle.

I've done that too!
Got tired of alway paying to get things fixed. Sat down and ran the numbers and for the cars I was driving at the time new car loan was the same or cheaper than what I was paying to keep things fixed including the time spent and the down time and price of car. Later I went to leasing because it was cheaper than a car loan since I didn't put more than 10K on a car/year. When I got the 928GTS I leased it because leasing as a collector car was much cheaper than any car loan on an older car.

I just buy a car and keep em forever. That is way cheaper. I have not had a car payment of any sort in this millennium.
I was talking to my brother yesterday. He just rolled 400,000 on his 1972 VW Westfalia camper. He has had it since 1974. He has only had his 1954 VW bug since 1978 so that is his new car. My parents traded in cars regularly like most people. We find a car we like and keep em.

I traded to the newer Cayenne Turbo to get the cornering lights feature. I tried to have cornering lights added to my Cayenne S and it requires some controller or something to make them work that cannot be added. It is a feature that comes standard with the bi-xenon headlights which are standard on the Turbo.
If I could have added to cornering lights I would have, and also white gauge faces so I could see the speedo better. Getting the turbo with the cornering lights was a plus because the gauge needles have silver trim around them which I can see much better and don't need the white gauge faces. There is an anti-dazzle feature for the rear view mirror that i really enjoyed on the S. It cost extra to build on the S but is standard on the turbo. For some reason it was NOT put on my turbo. I am understanding that for some reason nobody has been able to add the anti-dazzel mirrors to a cayenne that didn't come with it. Seems silly it's just 3 wires? Guys have even wired it in according to wiring diagrams and it doesn't work. I went from a highly optioned S to a Turbo that actually had some standard features removed. Like tha anti-dazzle rear view mirror and auto-on headlights. Looks like I can add the auto on headlights with just a new headlight switch. The S also has a trailer hitch. But found can easily add the factory class 3 hitch to the Turbo if I decide I was to get a receiver bike rack or even pull a big 7700lb trailer. My brother said I could get with one of my nephews boys that is into off road truck stuff now and add a light bar that I could turn on and off when I wanted to see around a corner. Told him there is a transiberian off road version that has a light bar. The Turbo does have one optional feature that is pretty neat. 4 zone HVAC. Which means there is an added evaporator and cools the vehicle down much quicker. And if I decide to start making extra money it has rear seat heaters I could use for pizza delivery.

I kinda liked the idea of the white gauge faces though.

Heard from the shop on the spongy brake pedal. Say it needs rear pads and flushed with new brake juice. Nothing wrong with the master cylinder or booster. rear pads were within only a few stops from setting of the replace pads light. Said brake juice is nasty dirty. Sure hope that fixes the spongy pedal.
Maybe the very talented mechanic that put in all the cheap LED light bulbs in tried to bleed the brakes and added air instead of removing it.

There changed my address, forgot to do that, sigh.
Had a right shoulder reconstruction three weeks ago, and can't drive, life is boring. There is no way I will be driving Marilyn for a few months, LHD Right arm manual stuff is just not going to be possible. Willl have to drive the auto HSV for a while, when the doctor gives me the all clear to drive. Did I say sitting around the house is boring? Jeez its boring sitting around the house! Sorry Richard, you matter. Nice scares Jeffrey, although mine is about 6 inches long, , so I win.
